摘要： An information recording and reproduction apparatus for recording and reproducing the information supplied through the transmission line is capable of protecting the copyright by limiting the reproduction of the recorded information. A main information signal supplied through the transmission line and a deadline signal attached to the main information signal and representing the reproduction deadline of the main information signal are recorded and reproduced by a recording device and a reproduction device respectively. A temporal information signal representing the date and time is acquired. The deadline signal reproduced is compared with the temporal information signal acquired. The reproduction output of the main information signal is cut off in accordance with the comparison signal produced by the comparison. In the case where the temporal information has passed the deadline, the reproduction output of the main information signal is cut off.

摘要： A digital video tape recorder ("VTR") that selects data useful for generating images during trick playback operation and records the data in trick play tape segments arranged on a tape to form fast scan tracks and multi-speed playback tracks. Each fast scan track comprises trick play tape segments located on a diagonal, relative to the length of the tape, of the same angle as the angle at which the heads of a VTR are expected to pass over the tape during trick play operation at a specific speed and direction of operation. Each multi-speed playback track comprises a plurality of trick play tape segments arranged parallel to the length of the tape. Data which is used for at least one mode of trick play operation is recorded in each trick play tape segment. Each fast scan track and multi-speed track crosses multiple normal play tracks. During playback at a wide variety of speeds and directions, the heads pass over enough trick play segments of the multi-speed playback track to generate recognizable images during trick play operation. Data is recorded in each trick play segment in a manner that optimizes the amount of data that can be routinely recovered during trick playback operation despite tracking errors.

摘要： A method of transmitting a digital signal in the form of successive signal frames containing codes for detecting and correcting errors of the digital signal for reducing degradation in the quality of the reproduced sound due to generation of the code errors in a digitized audio signal transmission system. An analog signal such as an audio signal is sampled and subjected to A/D conversion. The sample word thus obtained is divided into a plurality of symbol elements. Parity words for detecting and correcting code errors are added to every group of a predetermined number of the information symbols through an interleave procedure before being transmitted. The method includes the steps of applying a first frame of symbols, taken one from each input channel, and having a first arrangement state, to a first error-correcting code encoder to generate a series of first parity words; delaying each of the symbols in the first frame and each of the first parity words by a respective different delay time in a unit of the sample word at a delay line to provide a resulting second frame of symbols in a second arrangement state; applying the second frame of symbols to a second error-correcting code encoder to generate a series of second parity words; and transmitting said second frame of symbols together with said second parity words.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for receiving and/or reproducing a digital signal, capable of efficiently recording a compressed, packeted digital signal and inhibiting a copy thereof. An input packet signal is added with a time stamp indicating a relative time of an arrival of the packet, and the packet signals of digital information with the added time stamps are recorded at reduced intervals therebetween. In reproducing, a packet interval adjusting circuit restores the original packet intervals in accordance with the time stamps, and then a time stamp change circuit changes at least one bit of the time stamp and thereafter outputs the digital information.
