Abstract:
A memory device includes a coupling capacitor and a field-effect transistor. The coupling capacitor is formed from (1) a first dopant region in a second dopant region on a substrate, (2) a gate dielectric atop the first dopant region, and (3) a first gate conductor atop the gate dielectric. The coupling capacitor has the first gate conductor coupled to a second gate conductor of the field-effect transistor. A voltage can be applied to the second dopant region to isolate the coupling capacitor from the substrate by reverse biasing a PN junction formed between the first dopant region and the second dopant region.
Abstract:
A device comprising a frame having a bottom surface; a clamping device securable to the frame; and means for aligning the clamping device in a substantially straight line adjacent to a saw, the saw connected to a table is provided. In one embodiment, the table has a miter slot and the means for aligning comprises a miter track securable to the bottom surface of the frame, the miter track adapted to fit within the miter slot. In one embodiment, the device can also be used as a fence. A conventional saw, such as a stationary and upright band saw can now be converted into a handy and portable sawmill using one of the devices described herein as an accessory, without the need to make any alterations to the saw or saw table. Users can now, for the first time, hold very short (less than about one (1) ft) and small diameter (down to about one (1) inch) logs in the device of the present invention and slice them into lumber without causing splitting of the log.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel t-PALP protein which is a member of the serine protease family. In particular, isolated nucleic acid molecules are provided encoding the human t-PALP protein. t-PALP polypeptides are also provided as are vectors, host cells and recombinant methods for producing the same. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists of t-PALP activity. Also provided are diagnostic methods for detecting circulatory system-related disorders and therapeutic methods for treating circulatory system-related disorders.

Abstract:
A power amplifier system is presented for use in amplifying an RF input signal comprising N sub-power amplifiers are connected together in parallel with each receiving and amplifying a portion of the RF input signal. A combiner combines the amplified portions of the RF input signal to provide a combined output signal. Each sub-amplifier includes at least one transistor having an input port that receives a DC bias voltage and an output port, such that when the RF input signal is not present a quiescent current flows through the output port. A controller is operative when the RF signal is not present to check and adjust the magnitude of the quiescent current flowing in each of the sub-amplifier output ports in the sequence of 1 . . . N.

Abstract:
Sync separator and video detector circuits, including a sync tip clamp having symmetrical and non-symmetrical clamps. The symmetrical clamp clamps the input video signal to a reference voltage during composite sync pulses, so the coupling capacitor discharge current is kept small between composite sync pulses. For startup, the non-symmetrical clamp employs an operational amplifier, diode and controllable current source to charge the coupling capacitor to a minimum desired level, and to discharge the capacitor e.g. when there is a change in DC level so that the output level is too high. A sync slicing detector is also provided, using two comparators. One comparator compares the slicing level with the clamped video and produces a properly sliced composite sync output, while the other compares the clamped video with a small reference voltage and produces a fixed sync output. If the clamped video level drops suddenly, a delayed version of the fixed composite sync output clocks a flip flop, creating a fault signal which discharges a memory capacitor over a time period. When composite sync pulses are again sliced, the output from the first comparator resets the flip flop. The circuit also includes a video signal detector which enables its sync outputs only when it receives a predetermined number of valid lines of video with the frequency of the lines being in a predetermined range and with the last several lines being relatively free of noise. This is performed by a counter which provides a full count on receipt of the predetermined number of lines, but which has its inputs cleared if the frequency is outside the desired range, and which has its most significant bit cleared if significant noise is present. A timer prevents muting of the outputs if the input signal frequency is disturbed only momentarily.
