    摘要: In a pixel structure of an active matrix liquid crystal display device, a common electrode branching out from a common line which is maintained at a specified voltage and a pixel electrode connected to a drain of a thin-film transistor arranged on a common plane are wound around each other in spiral form. Electric fields generally oriented parallel to a substrate are produced between the common electrode and pixel electrode arranged in each pixel on the substrate. These electric fields drive a liquid crystal material to provide a visual display. The pixel electrode is surrounded, or fenced off, by the common electrode in each pixel so that the former is kept unaffected from interference from a nearby gate line and/or source line.

The display unit in which frame inversion made in a writing period (60 to 180 Hz) is connected to a control unit and an input operating unit, so that the user can carry out the information processing operation.

    摘要: An active matrix liquid crystal display having improved reliability. Pixel regions and a peripheral driver circuit are integrally packed on the display. TFTs forming the peripheral driver circuit are located inside a sealing material layer on the side of a liquid crystal material, thus protecting the peripheral driver circuit from external moisture and contaminants. This enhances the long-term reliability of the peripheral driver circuit. Pixel TFTs are arranged in pixel regions. The leads going from the TFTs forming the peripheral driver circuit to the pixel TFTs are shortened. This results in a reduction in the resistance. As a result, the display characteristics are improved.

    摘要: For a full-color flat panel display, demands for high definition, high aperture ratio and high reliability have been increasing. Therefore, increasing in the number of pixels and narrowing a pixel pitch have been major issues. According to the present invention, a layer including an organic compound is selectively formed with a light-exposure apparatus used in a photolithography technique without a resist mask. A material layer including a photopolymerization initiator, a material polymerized with the photopolymerization initiator, and an organic compound are formed on a plate, and then are exposed to light and selectively cured. A film-formation substrate is disposed so as to face the plate. The film-formation substrate or the material layer is heated so that the organic compound included in a region exposed to light or a region not exposed to light is evaporated to be selectively deposited on the surface of the film-formation substrate.

A display device with high color purity and high color reproducibility is provided. The light-emitting element unit includes a wiring board, a light-emitting element chip provided over the wiring board, a micro optical resonator provided over the wiring board and at the periphery of the light-emitting element chip, and a phosphor layer covering the light-emitting element chip and the micro optical resonator. The display device includes a display panel having a coloring layer and a backlight module having the light-emitting element unit. Examples of the display panel include: a liquid crystal panel; and a display panel including an opening portion provided over a first substrate, MEMS moving over the opening portion in the lateral direction, and a second substrate provided with a coloring layer in a portion corresponding to the opening portion.
