Abstract:
Use of optimized piston member for generating peak liquid pressure. A one-step hydraulic blow molding system and method for forming a preform and a liquid filled container from the preform. The machine and method include a sealing mechanism that forms a seal primarily utilizing compressive forces in an axial direction to prevent the leakage of liquid blow medium. The sealing mechanism includes an axial end face of a forming head and an upper axial surface of a neck ring.
Abstract:
A bottle for dispensing fluids into a capless filler system, the bottle configured with an elongated smooth neck designed for insertion into a capless filler opening to actuate and displace one or more flapper seals when emptying the fluid into the capless filler. The bottle is sealed with a cap with a first set of screw threads that engages the neck at a top portion with a second set of screw threads on an interior surface of the top portion of the neck. The cap can be a child proof cap. The bottle can be made of plastic that is clear or opaque.
Abstract:
A bifurcated dual-balloon catheter apparatus for deploying one or more stents to a bifurcated vessel or for use in angioplasty procedures involving bifurcated vessels. The apparatus is particularly suited for bifurcated vessels of the type comprising a main branch from which a side branch extends therefrom. The apparatus has loon and a side branch balloon. A conduit is provided in the main branch balloon through which a portion of the side branch balloon extends. The first balloon is positionable within the main branch of the vessel while the distal portion of the second balloon is positionable within the side branch such that when the first and second balloons are inflated, the first balloon expands radially in the main branch while the distal portion of said second balloon maintains registration with the side branch by expanding radially therein.
Abstract:
A container comprising a polyester composition with enhanced carbon dioxide and oxygen barrier properties is provided. The polyester composition comprises a polyester and a gas barrier enhancing additive. In a particular embodiment, the gas barrier enhancing additive comprises a compound having the chemical formula: X—(X1)s—COO—(X2)t—X3—(X4)u—OOC—(X5)v—X6 or X—(X1)s—OOC—(X2)t—X3—(X4)u—COO—(X5)v—X6.
Abstract:
A biaxially stretched, blow molded bottle made of a resin comprising at least one of polyethylene terephthalate and a copolymerized polyester comprising ethylene terephthalate. The bottle neck is formed, just as the bottle body is formed, by expanding a body of a preform in a shape of a test tube in a stretching step of the molding process. The bottle neck has an average thickness in a range of 0.6 to 1.8 mm, and at the bottle neck, the resin is partially crystallized and is in an oriented crystallized state. A ratio of an absolute value of crystallization enthalpy, ΔHc, to melting enthalpy, ΔHm (|ΔHc|/ΔHm) of the bottle neck is a value less than 0.1, and a rate of dimensional change in the outer diameter of the bottle neck is 0.2% or less.
Abstract:
A mold device and a method related thereto for forming a plastic container from a preform. The mold device comprises a mold defining a mold cavity, a stretch initiation rod system for engaging an interior portion of the preform to define a stretch initiation area, and a centrally disposed pressure source positionable within the preform for introducing a pressurized fluid.
Abstract:
A stretched and foamed plastic formed body forming, in at least a portion thereof, a foamed region which incorporates foamed cells therein, wherein the foamed cells have a flat shape with a maximum thickness of not more than 30 μm and an average aspect ratio of not less than 4 as viewed in cross section of the formed body perpendicular to a direction in which the formed body is stretched to a maximum degree, and a non-foamed plastic skin layer having no foamed cell distributed therein is formed on the outer surface of the foamed region. The formed body is, further, blended with a non-lustrous pigment as the coloring agent, which is different from a lustrous pigment such as flaky pigment, and exhibits a metal color over the foamed region thereof. The foamed formed body exhibiting a metal color and, specifically, a gold color or a silver color is thus provided without using any expensive lustrous pigment such as metal powder pigment or flaky pigment.
Abstract:
The present invention is a production method for an expansion balloon (2) for use in a balloon catheter (1), including the steps of; forming a balloon tube (8) by extrusion molding so as to have a cross section orthogonal to an axial direction with the shape of a circle on the outside and the shape of a polygon having a circumcircle on the inside; and placing the balloon tube (8) in a mold to perform biaxially-stretched blow molding to obtain the balloon, whereby it is possible to produce the expansion balloon (2) that has no unevenness in film thickness of a straight pipe part (4) and allows stable folding control by simple processes with favorable molding yields.
Abstract:
In a balloon tube (10) which is processed after it is mounted on a mold, a bag part (14) has a plurality of parts having a different drawability in a radial direction centered around an axial direction X, disposed along the axial direction X. The highest drawability part (11), which has the highest drawability, is disposed to separate from both ends of the bag part (14) in the axial direction X thereof. The balloon tube (10) is preferable to stably fabricate a balloon having a uniform film thickness.
Abstract:
A method for assembling a handling unit of filled containers and a corresponding method, where the handling unit comprises different container types being different with respect to at least the height, base area, base area shape or the mechanical load capacity of the containers, and the supplied containers are arranged on a handling unit carrier. The arrangement of the containers with respect to the number and/or the position and/or the rotational position of the containers on the handling unit carrier is made in dependence on at least one of the above container parameters, and the handling units can be produced flexibly and with a high packing density.
