摘要: A lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines, including: (A) a lubricating base oil; and (B) a metal-based detergent, wherein the component (B) contains: (B1) a calcium-based detergent in which a content of calcium based on a total mass of the composition is within a specific range; and (B2) a magnesium-based detergent in which a content of magnesium based on the total mass of the composition is within a specific range, the component (B1) contains (B1-1) a calcium-based detergent containing boron and calcium, a content of boron based on the total mass of the composition is 1000 mass ppm or less, a ratio (B(B1)/Ca(B1)) of B(B1) to Ca(B1) is 0.15 or more and 0.35 or less, and a ratio (B(B1)/[Ca(B1)+Mg(B2)]) of B(B1) to a total amount (Ca(B1)+Mg(B2)) of Ca(B1) and Mg(B2) is 0.13 or more and 0.29 or less.

摘要: A lubricating oil additive composition containing a polymer-based compound may be excellent in solubility in a mineral oil and wear resistance, and favorable as a friction modifier. A lubricating oil composition may contain the additive composition. Such a lubricating oil additive composition may contain a copolymer (X) containing: (a) a structural unit derived from a monomer (A) having a (meth)acryloyl group and a linear or branched alkyl group having 6 to 24 carbon atoms; (b) a structural unit derived from a monomer (B) having a (meth)acryloyl group and a polar group; and (c) a structural unit derived from a monomer (C) having a polymerizable functional group and a cyclic structure group. The copolymer (X) may have a content of the structural unit (a) of 43% by mol or more based on the total structural units of the copolymer (X), and a mass average molecular weight (Mw) of 5,000 to 90,000.

摘要: There is provided a lubricating oil composition which is excellent in the wear resistance and the oil film retention even when the viscosity of the composition is lowered. The lubricating oil composition comprises: a base oil (A); an imide compound (B); a calcium-based detergent (C); a polymer component (D); and a zinc dithiophosphate (E), wherein the imide compound (B) comprises at least one non-boron-modified succinic acid imide compound (Bx) selected from a succinic acid monoimide (B1x) represented by general formula (b-1) and a succinic acid bisimide (B2x) represented by general formula (b-2), and wherein the polymer compound (D) has a mass average molecular weight (Mw) of not less than 10,000 and not more than 50,000, and comprises at least one selected from an olefin polymer (D1) and a polymethacrylate (D2).

摘要: The present invention relates to a middle-pressure polymerization process for the preparation of a liquid ethylene copolymer which comprises in polymerized form 20 to 60 wt % of ethylene; and at least 20 wt % of an acrylate, which is selected from C1-C22 alkyl (meth)acrylate, where a monomer mix comprising the ethylene and the acrylate is polymerized at a pressure of 50 to 400 bar and in the presence of at least 2 wt % of a chain transfer agent. The invention further relates to a liquid ethylene copolymer obtainable by the polymerization process; and to a lubricant comprising the liquid ethylene copolymer obtainable by the polymerization process; and to a method for reducing friction between moving surfaces comprising the step of contacting the surfaces with the lubricant or with the ethylene copolymer.

摘要: A lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine has a HTHS viscosity at 150° C. of 2.55-2.84 mPa·s and includes: (A) a lubricating base oil including (a) mineral base oil(s) and/or (a) synthetic base oil(s), and having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 3.8-4.6 mm2/s; (B) 1000-2000 mass ppm, in terms of metal content, of a metallic detergent including (a) metal salicylate detergent(s), and delivering ≥10 mmol/kg of total salicylate soap base per kilogram of the composition; (C) 1.0 to 4.0 mass % of a comb-shaped poly(meth)acrylate having a Mw of 350,000-1,000,000 and a PDI of ≤4.0; and (D) 100-1000 mass ppm, in terms of nitrogen, of a succinimide dispersant including (i) (a) non-modified succinimide dispersant(s) and/or (ii) (a) boric acid-modified succinimide dispersant(s), wherein the (i) and the (ii), in total, deliver ≥70 mass % of total nitrogen content of the component (D).
