A water-inhibiting cap may cover the hazardous material storage area. The reactive multi-layer composite mat has a backing onto which is placed an active layer which will neutralize or stabilize hazardous waste and a fronting layer so that the active layer is between the fronting and backing layers. The reactive backfill has a reactive agent which can stabilize or neutralize hazardous material and inhibit the movement of the hazardous material through the hazardous material storage area.

    摘要: A silicone gel sheet is heat-molded from a silicone gel composition comprising metal oxide magnetic particles and a thermoconductive filler. The sheet has a high electromagnetic wave absorbing property at a frequency ranging from 500 to 800 MHz. The hardness of the composition after hardening treatment is set in the range of 10-95 when measured with an ASKER F-type hardness meter. The metal oxide magnetic particles used here can be either Mn—Zn ferrite or Ni—Zn ferrite whose average particle diameter is 1-50 &mgr;m. For the thermoconductive filler, a metal oxide, aluminum nitride, boron nitride, silicon nitride, or silicon carbide can be used. In the silicone gel molded sheet, an electroconductive mesh is embedded in one surface layer of the silicone gel layers while the other surface is provided with adhesiveness. As a result, an electromagnetic wave absorbing thermoconductive silicone gel molded sheet is provided at a low cost, and the sheet is superior both in electromagnetic wave absorbing property and thermoconductivity.

    摘要: This invention describes two products both with a plain, fine textured, nonperforated surface visual consisting of a fiberboard substrate with or without a laminated porous nonwoven scrim and then a finished painted surface. The finish painted surface decorates or finishes the board, but most important, must remain acoustically transparent to retain the sound absorption properties of the fiberboard prior to painting. The fiberboard substrate is made to be porous or modified with hole perforations to cause it to be a good sound absorber. If the fiberboard substrate is sufficiently porous without hole perforations, then the sprayable, high solids, porous paint can be directly applied. If hole perforations are used to improve the sound absorption properties of the board substrate, then a porous, nonwoven scrim is attached and painted using the same high solids porous paint. This painted scrim must be sufficiently optically opaque to hide the hole punched board, yet sufficiently open to render it acoustically transparent. The inventions also include the paint coating alone or the paint/scrim coating alone.

    摘要: There is disclosed a water-reducible, chrome-free coating composition for providing corrosion protection to a substrate, such as a metal substrate. The deposited coating film is corrosion-resistant and, for coated articles which are threaded, e.g., steel fasteners, the coating provides a non-thread-filling coating. The coating composition contains particulate metal, such as particulate zinc or aluminum. Although substituents can be separately packaged, the composition is virtually always a one-package coating composition. The composition is water-based, while also containing low-boiling organic liquid. The composition also contains water-reducible organofunctional silane, particularly an epoxy functional silane, as a binding agent. The composition has highly desirable, extended shelf life. The composition can be easily applied in usual manner, such as dip-drain or dip-spin technique, and readily cures at elevated temperature.

The particles are composed of silicon or germanium and are optionally produced at sizes such that the particles exhibit quantum size effects. The particles are produced from an organometallic (tetra-organosilicon or tetra-organogermanium) precursors which is dissolved in a solvent that transmits a wavelength of light that photolyzes the precursor. The reaction is carried out under an inert atmosphere. A passivating agent is added to arrest particle growth and impart solubility to the particle. Optionally, a dopant is incorporated into the particle in the course of production so as to modify the electronic properties of the semiconductor particle.

    摘要: A composite material adapted for barrier garment applications is made by laminating a film with an amorphous polymer layer to a prebonded nonwoven web under conditions producing laminate bonds corresponding to the prebond locations, and unbonded areas between the bonds while maintaining constant film thickness. The composite has enhanced resistance to viral penetration for use as a surgical gown material, for example, and also desirably has a MVTR of at least about 300 g/m2/24 hours and a hydrohead of at least about 50 mbar. In use as a component of a protective apparel such as a surgical gown or drape, the composite provides comfort and protection with reduced risk of film damage.
