Abstract: The present invention is a thermoplastic polymer composition which contains 10-120 parts by mass of a polar group-containing polypropylene resin (B) per 100 parts by mass of a thermoplastic elastomer (A) that is a block copolymer having a polymer block containing an aromatic vinyl compound unit and a polymer block composed of a conjugated diene unit having 40% by mole or more of 1,2-bonds and 3,4-bonds in total, or a hydrogenated product of the block copolymer (provided that a thermoplastic polymer composition containing 1 part by mass or more of a polyvinyl acetal resin is excluded). This thermoplastic polymer composition is able to be bonded with a ceramic, a metal or a synthetic resin without requiring a primer treatment, and has excellent flexibility, mechanical characteristics, moldability, heat resistance and storage stability.

Abstract: A flexible ventilation duct production method includes forming an inner layer using at least one of aluminum PET, polyester, metalized OPP, metalized polyester and PVC; forming an insulation layer comprised of rubber, polyethylene liners, polyester fibers or similar insulation materials; assembling a steel wire taking shape from being spirally wound around a cylinder; forming an outer layer using at least one of aluminum PET, polyester, metalized OPP, metalized polyester and PVC; and laminating by being wound to a constantly rotating cylindrical shaft in a certain order to form an integrated, holistic structure between all the factors, which is constantly rotated around its own axis in strip plates and is constantly fed to the mentioned cylindrical shaft, by meanwhile providing complete lamination with the applied chemicals.

Abstract: A fire-resistant polymeric membrane includes a polymer layer such as PVC, TPO, or EPDM affixed to a carbon fiber composite. The carbon fiber composite includes one or two layers of non-woven carbon fibers and at least one of an inert fiber mat or a metal foil layer, wherein the metal foil layer has a melting temperature of at least about 660° C. The present invention also provides an underlayment, wherein the underlayment is formed from one or more fibrous carbon layers affixed to at least one of an inert fiber mat or a metal foil having a melting temperature greater than 660° C.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a packaging material comprising a layer of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) and an aluminum layer having a thickness of 0.1-20 μm, wherein the layer comprising MFC and/or the aluminum layer has been laminated or extrusion coated on at least one side with a thermoplastic polymer and wherein the amount of aluminum is sufficient to make the packaging material heat sealable by induction. The MFC layer contains at least 60% by weight of microfibrillated cellulose.

Abstract: A peel-openable package includes a lid. The led includes a sheet member located at a position corresponding to a container portion of a package main body, and a film member bonded to a surface of the sheet member. Cutouts running in a thickness direction of the members and are formed in a peel region defined in a foldable portion of the members. The cutouts and cross a longitudinal direction L and are away from each other by a predetermined interval extending in the longitudinal direction. Facing surfaces of the sheet member and the film member, which are in the peel region corresponding to an area between the cutouts, are bonded together so as to be peelable from each other by an adhesive layer.

Abstract: An impact force dampening and defusing structure includes a plurality of components arranged in a grid array. A component has a three-dimensional geometric shape that includes an impact receiving surface area and an impact defusing surface area. The impact defusing surface area is larger than, and a distance “d” from, the impact receiving surface area. The component includes a material composition and, when an impact force strikes the impact receiving surface area of the component and the impact force dampening and defusing structure is in position to protect a body part, the component contributes to reducing pressure on the body part based on the material composition, the distance “d”, the impact receiving surface area, and the impact defusing surface area.

Abstract: A method of producing a laminated article comprising placing a first metal skin, a core, and a second metal skin freely onto each other as discrete layers to provide a layered component; and forming the layered component into a shaped article via a die prior to producing a laminated article by applying pressure and heat to the shaped article, wherein at least the first skin moves relative to the core and/or second skin during the forming.

Abstract: A method to prepare a composite laminate object containing an extrusion grade 7xxx Al substrate and a fiber-reinforced polypropylene layer adhesively laminated to the substrate; is provided. The process includes shaping and cutting an extruded 7xxx aluminum to a profile, assembling a layered arrangement of the 7xxx Al profile as substrate, an adhesive film and a fiber reinforced polypropylene preform, heating the layered arrangement to a temperature of 160-175° C. to melt the polypropylene and activate the adhesive film, applying pressure to at least a surface of the fiber reinforced polypropylene preform to mold the preform to the shape of the extruded 7xxxAl substrate and obtain a semi-finished laminate object, cooling the semi-finished laminate object to 90° C., optionally, cooling the semi-finished laminate object to room temperature for inventory storage; heat treating the semi-finished laminate object at 90° C. for 2 to 8 hours; and then heat treating the semi-finished laminate object at 130° C. to 150° C. for 8 to 16 hours; and cooling the heat treated object to obtain the composite laminate object.

Abstract: Provided in the present invention are a resin composition and a pre-preg and a laminate using the composition. The resin composition comprises: (A) a prepolymer of a polyolefin resin and a bifunctional maleimide or a multifunctional maleimide; and, (B) vinyl thermosetting polyphenylene ether, where with the weight of the prepolymer of the polyolefin resin and the bifunctional maleimide or the multifunctional maleimide being 100 parts by weight, the weight of the vinyl thermosetting polyphenylene ether is 200 to 1000 parts by weight. The present invention, by employing the prepolymer of the polyolefin resin and the bifunctional maleimide or the multifunctional maleimide, solves the problem of incompatibility of the bifunctional maleimide or the multifunctional maleimide with the polyolefin resin and vinyl thermosetting polyphenylene ether. An aqueous glue solution so mixed is uniform and consistent, the pre-preg has a uniform expression, and a substrate resin area is free of a phase-separation problem.
