The present invention provides a baseplate comprising a cylindrical hub, a flat flange, and one or two circular notches of a “V” or “U” shape etc. formed in said flange. This baseplate has the advantages of smaller deformation and larger retention torque during swage operation. Also it is easy to make and has no further cost in production. Moreover, the present invention further provides an arm and suspension assembly equipped with the baseplate and a hard disk drive equipped with the arm and suspension assembly.

The invention relates to a microactuator comprising a movable structure having a symmetric axis about which the movable structure are divided into two parts which can produce the same movement but in opposite directions; two active arms built with piezoelectric material; two stationary structures to connect the two active arms at their two ends, respectively. The invention also relates to a disk drive suspension which is incorporated with the microactuator.

A roaming algorithm for associating a mobile station (STA) with an access point in a wireless LAN system used in an automatic guidance vehicle (AGV) application. Fast roaming is achieved by eliminating a STA's scanning time during the search of the next AP to associate with. To eliminate the scanning time, each AP is pre-configured with its adjacent APs in advance. Whenever an AP is associated with, a mobile station (STA) gets the information of neighboring APs from the currently associated AP. Then, the STA continuously monitors the signal strength of APs in its neighborhood. During roaming, the STA chooses the best AP to associate with without having to scan all the APs.

Recombinant DNA constructs comprising one or more FK-520 polyketide synthase domains, modules, open reading frames, and variants thereof can be used to produce recombinant polyketide synthases and a variety of different polyketides with application in agriculture, medicine, and animal health.

The apparatus includes: a first pressure sensing device which senses a pressure in a reaction chamber, a pumping device for pumping the vapor from the reaction chamber to the pumping device, a valve that is opened when the pressure is larger than a first value and smaller than a second value, a bypass valve which is closed when the pressure is larger than the third value and smaller than the fourth value, a check valve that blocks a gas flow from the check valve to the bypass valve, and a pipe for connecting all of the above.

A polycarbonate blend composition comprising 95-5 wt % of a polycarbonate resin, 5-95% of an ABS resin and 0-01-5 parts per hundred of a heat stabilizer (relative to the combined resin weight). The heat stabilizers are selected from benzothiazoles of formula: ##STR1## wherein R is selected from hydrogen, alkyl, aryl and benzothiazolyl; benzimidazole compounds of formula: ##STR2## wherein R is selected from hydrogen, alkyl, aryl and benzimidazolyl; hydrazine compound of formula: ##STR3## wherein R is alkyl, and cation exchange materials selected from metal salts of silicaluminate zeolites, metal salts of triphosphates and cation exchange resins. These poly blend composition display improved impact resistance.

The present invention provides a method for measuring the trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) production capacity in a subject, which comprises the following steps: (a) making the subject intake a specific dosage of carnitine; and (b) obtaining a body fluid sample of the subject at a specific time point after the subject ingests the carnitine and detecting the TMAO content in the body fluid sample. Different from the general technical detection on the market that only detects the gut microbiome composition, the invention can directly detect the ability of gut microbiota to produce TMAO in the human body. In addition, compared with directly detecting the concentration of TMAO in the blood, the invention gives a better predictive effect of gut microbiota functional phenotypes.

The invention provides a carbon-based polymer PTC ink composition with enhanced heating uniformity to reduce the risk of hot spots across the PTC thick film fabricated from the PTC ink by addition of boron nitride. The added boron nitride is thermo-conductor and electric non-conductor. The presentation of boron nitride in carbon-based polymeric PTC film improves the temperature homogeneity across the film and maintains the desired PTC effect of the heating device. The content of boron nitride based on the total PTC composition in the invented PTC ink composition is 10-50 wt. %.

A method for searching for a radio cell is provided comprising determining, for each of a plurality of frequencies, a reception strength value indicating the reception strength within a first bandwidth around the frequency, wherein the first bandwidth is smaller than a second bandwidth with which a radio cell to be searched is operated; determining, based on the determined reception strength values, a spectral position for a radio cell at which a cell search is to be carried out; and carrying out a cell search at the determined spectral position.
