摘要: Chimeric peptides or fusion proteins are disclosed that include a RhoGAP activity domain and at least one specificity domain that targets a specific Rho protein. The fusion proteins can be used to inhibit any GTPase activity within a cell. The fusion proteins are particularly advantageous for the treatment of cancer. The present invention generally relates to chimeric peptides capable of regulating GTPases, and more particularly, to methods of targeting individual GTPases by using GTPase-activating proteins. Such proteins may be used for the treatment of cancers and other GTPase-related diseases. This invention relates to nucleic acid molecules and the encoded GTPase activating proteins, and variants thereof, and to the use of these molecules in the characterization, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cell signaling, immune, and cell proliferative disorders, particularly cancer. Disclosed herein are compounds and methods for regulating transcription of a selected gene.

摘要: Improved methods and pharmaceutical compositions are provided herein for mobilizing hematopoietic progenitor cells from bone marrow into peripheral blood, comprising the administration of an effective amount of an inhibitor of GTPases, such as Rac1 and Rac2 alone or in combination. Specifically, methods are disclosed for mobilizing hematopoietic stem cells into a subject's peripheral blood. In particular, embodiments of the method involve inhibition of both Rac1 and Rac2 GTPases to increase the numbers of hematopoietic stem cells into a subject's peripheral blood of a subject. The subject's blood can be processed and used to repopulate the destroyed lymphohematopoietic system of a recipient and may in the future be utilized to repair a variety of non-hematopoietic tissues. Therefore, hematopoietic stem cells mobilized into a subject's peripheral blood by the method of the invention is useful as a source of donor cells in bone marrow transplantation for the treatment of a variety of disorders, including cancer, anemia, autoimmunity and immunodeficiency. They can also be used for increasing white blood cell survival and for chemotherapy.

摘要: A novel form of lipase, namely feline pancreatic lipase (also termed feline classical pancreatic lipase) has an N-terminal amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO. 1. A method of purifying this lipase includes collecting pancreatic tissue from cats, delipidating the pancreatic tissue to produce a delipidated pancreatic extract, extracting pancreatic lipase from the delipidated pancreatic extract, and eluting the extracted pancreatic lipase through various columns. This lipase can be used for measuring pancreatic lipase immunoreactivity in serum thereby diagnosing pancreatitis in cats. To do so, antiserum against feline pancreatic lipase is prepared, and immunoassays are then performed in serum samples using this antiserum. In the event that increased concentration of pancreatic lipase immunoreactivity above the control range is detected in the serum, the cat might have pancreatitis.

摘要: A safety jacket and harness system including a body harness formed by a pair of torso bands and a pair of shoulder straps. The torso bands form an upper torso band and a lower torso band. Each torso band has a fastening member that is attached to end portions. The pair of shoulder straps each have a first shoulder strap portion and a second shoulder strap portion. Each shoulder strap portion is coupled together by a fastening member when each shoulder strap is attached to the pair of torso bands. Included is a center strap that is fixedly attached to the pair of torso bands and has a locking member at a top end. A safety strap has a first safety strap end that can couple with the locking member of the center strap, and a second safety strap end that can be looped and fastened around a tree trunk. An escape strap is attached to the safety strap. Lastly, a jacket receives the body harness when worn by a hunter using a tree stand with the center strap of the harness coupled to the safety strap looped around the tree trunk.

摘要: A package comprising a sealed container containing a roll of wall covering material which comprises a hydrophilic substrate layer, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on one surface and, on the other surface, a decorative layer, usually including a layer of PVC or other plastics material. The wallcovering material is preferably self-wound on a roll. The moisture content of the wallcovering material is controlled in the package so as to provide a desired area of the product which falls between the area of the product where it is soaked in water under predetermined conditions and the area of the product when it is preconditioned under relatively dry, predetermined conditions. The moisture content is generally above the equilibrium content under normal ambient conditions so that any problems caused by expansion of the product in use under humid conditions, such as bubbling and raising of the edges of the material at seams, are minimised. In a process for producing the product the moisture content is monitored during the process, usually downstream from a drying stage, for instance the drying stage following application of an aqueous adhesive.
