Abstract:
A video recording apparatus allowing any of recordable players and other ordinary players that reproduce MPEG moving pictures to reproduce still pictures when in reproducing photographed still pictures and preferred to record fine still pictures. When recording still pictures, the video recording apparatus records still pictures encoded by the still picture encoding means (106) and other still pictures encoded by the moving picture encoding means (105) from single frame signals. The single frame signals are created by the signal converting means (109) from the still pictures encoded by the still picture encoding means (106).
Abstract:
When a subject is imaged for the purpose of deciding the angle of view, the full image that is capable of being sensed by a CCD is displayed on an LCD. The user designates the position of a cropping area in the image being displayed. Only image data representing the image within the border of the designated area is recorded on a memory card. Since the amount of image data to be recorded on the memory card is thus reduced, image data representing images of a greater number of frames can be recorded on the memory card.
Abstract:
In an electronic imaging apparatus, image information of an image signal photoelectrically converted from an image incident is stored in image information storing means in a format dependent upon a type of the applied storage device. Provided therein are communication means for transmitting and/or receiving image information generated in this apparatus or the other equivalent apparatuses while an operation mode of the apparatus is set for communication and switch means for causing the communication means to start a communication mode operation.
Abstract:
An image data recording method in a digital still video camera capable of selecting one of the single shot mode for photographing and recording only a single image and the sequential shot mode for sequentially photographing and recording a plurality of images comprises the steps of distinguishing whether a recorded image was photographed in the single shot mode or in the sequential shot mode, giving a file name correspondingly to the photographed image, and recording the photographed image. File names for each single shot image may be stored at a given hierarchy level. A name (e.g., a subdirectory name) representative of a plurality of sequential shot images may be stored at the same level as the single shot file names and file names of the sequential shot images stored under the representative name at a different hierarchy level.

Abstract:
A digital electric still camera is provided having a CCD image sensor and a memory card for recording digital image data of picture frames photographed by the CCD image sensor. The image data is compressed before being recorded, and the data compression rate is selectable by operating a picture mode button. The selected data compression rate is recorded along with the image data during photographing. When reproducing a picture frame on a monitor TV, the data compression rate is read together with the image data, so that the image data is expanded in correspondence to the data compression rate, and the data compression rate is displayed on a display device, such as a LCD panel provided on the digital electric still camera, in association with the serial number of the picture frame.
Abstract:
A display device having a plurality of display modes may be used with a recording apparatus which records received image information on a recording medium. An information display is provided for displaying data. Exposure correction circuitry corrects an exposure characteristic of the received image and provides exposure correction information in response to a setting operation. Circuitry is provided for generating an identification code to be recorded on the recording medium together with the image information. Control circuitry is provided having a first display mode for causing the display to display the correction information from the exposure correction circuitry when the exposure correction information has been set, and a second display mode for causing the display to display the identification code generated by the generating circuitry instead of the correction information when the exposure correction information has not been set.
Abstract:
Image signal recording apparatus and methods are provided for recording first and second image data on a record medium wherein the first image data are obtained through sampling of image signals at a first data rate and the second image data have a second data rate lower than the first data rate such that the second image data may be reproduced by apparatus operating at the second data rate. The second image data are formed from the first image data and recorded together with at least a portion of the first image data in predetermined areas of the recording medium. The portion of the first image data recorded on the recording medium is selected such that the first image data may be derived by reproducing apparatus operating at the first data rate from the second image data and the portion of the first image data. Area discriminating codes are recorded on the recording medium for identifying the predetermined areas in which the second image data and the portion of the first image data are recorded.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media for allocating content elements addressed for a content opportunity in a transport stream within a household-addressable media network. A content opportunity may include an advertising slot in a programming stream. The content elements may include advertising content configured to be run during the advertising slot. The advertising slot may be transmitted in a programming stream providing television programming and the advertising content may be provided in a commercial feed. The media network may be configured to transmit various content formats, such as high definition (HD), standard definition (SD), and variations thereof. Systems may be configured to allocate the highest profile corresponding content elements if there is sufficient resources available. If sufficient resources are not available, the system may allocate lower profile versions of the content elements.
Abstract:
A technique processes captured data on a device, wherein selected captured data of a given quality resolution is transferred via a communication link to a separate storage location for future availability. A storage protocol may include different storage organization categories. A possible aspect includes an identifier record to enable future accessibility to selected captured data by one or more authorized parties or approved devices or authorized recipients.
