Spacers for filtration membranes that are formed from perforated films. The spacer include unperforated regions, which can serve as integrated lamination strips, advantageously omitting the need for separate lamination steps required with woven and nonwoven spacer fabrics while also providing a spacer with a uniform thickness.
Abstract:
Pleated filtration media, filtration media packs, and filtration elements containing projections are disclosed. The pleated filtration media includes projections on at least one surface, the projections configured to engage adjacent media sheets so as to reduce masking of the media. The pleated media and media pleat packs contain protrusions on the surface of the media. These protrusions are three dimensional structures that are on the surface of the media and are provided by forming the protrusion directly in the filtration media or applying structures, such as adhesive beads, or onto one or both faces of the media. Elongation of the adhesive bead can facilitate greater separation of the adjacent faces of pleated media if desired. These protrusions, also referred to herein as projections or dimples, can either contact each other or contact flat media and keep adjacent media faces from becoming in intimate contact with each other.

A pool filter core, comprising two portions, a first portion and a second portion, wherein each of the two portions may be halved or truncated cylinders, wherein the portions are configured to engage one another along the vertical edges of the portions, such that when the portions engage one another, an open cylinder is formed that is configured to support a filter substrate and allow for water to flow from outside to inside.

Referring to the figures generally, a rotating filter cartridge includes a first endcap, a second endcap, and a filter media. The filter media is positioned between the first endcap and the second endcap. The filter media creates a mechanical seal between at least one of the first endcap or the second endcap during rotation of the rotating filter cartridge without the use of a potting material. In at least one embodiment, the rotating filter cartridge further includes a body secured to the first endcap and the second endcap. At least one of the first endcap or the second endcap, and the body, may form a pocket that radially pinches the filter media to form the mechanical seal.

A filter arrangement for threadably securing to a filter head includes a housing having a surrounding wall defining an interior volume, an open mouth providing access to the interior volume and an end opposite of the open mouth. The surrounding wall has an exterior and an interior. A filter media construction is operably held within the interior volume. A sleeve, distinct from the housing, is secured to the exterior of the surrounding wall adjacent to the housing mouth and extending partially along the surrounding wall. The sleeve has an exterior and an interior. The exterior of the sleeve defines mounting threads constructed and arranged to removably mount with the filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. The interior of the sleeve is against the exterior of the surrounding wall. A first seal member is oriented against the sleeve to create a seal with a filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. A filter assembly includes a filter arrangement and a filter head. The filter arrangement is removably secured to the filter head by a threaded connection between the sleeve and the filter head. A system includes an engine utilizing a liquid and a filter assembly in fluid communication with the engine to filter the liquid. Methods of making filter arrangements include utilizing structures characterized above.

A filter element has a multi-layered filter medium web with several layers that is folded along folding lines. The filter medium web has at least one functional region in at least one section located between adjacent folding lines. The at least one functional region is a first embossment. The layers of the filter medium web are firmly bonded to each other along the first embossment. A device for folding a multi-layered filter medium web has an energy-introducing embossing unit that embosses the filter medium web fed by a feed unit to the embossing unit. A folding unit for folding the filter medium web along folding lines is provided. The energy-introducing embossing unit embosses and firmly bonds the layers of the filter medium web along at least one functional region in at least one section of the filter medium web located between adjacent folding lines.

The frame body is provided with a comb-shaped portion having a comb-tooth portion which is inserted into adjacent pleat portions and contacts to a surface of the filter member, and the comb-shaped member is formed by an insert-molding process.

A pleated media pack includes a section of media configured into a tube defining an interior volume and an open opening at one end. A ratio of the pleat depth to a diameter of the opening is greater than 0.2. At least some of the pleats at one end of the media pack are inverted. In some examples, the pleats include major pleats alternating with minor pleats.
