摘要: A video multiplexing communications system for distributing two distinct video programs via a single satellite channel utilizes time division principles, transmitting alternating lines of video information for the two programs by a single frequency modulated carrier to increase FM carrier-to-noise, thereby also maintaining each video program signal-to-noise ratio above FM detection threshold. The alternating lines are compacted in time and occupy a substantial portion of the synchronizing pulse period of the video lines; one line is partially repeated to reduce spurious system transient responses upon inter-program line switching; and amplitude expansion/reduction may be employed to maintain a large FM carrier deviation.

For an embodiment, the one or more controllers are operative to (or configured to) determine one or more communication delays for each base station of a plurality of base stations based upon a maximum propagation delay between each base station and one or more of a plurality of hubs, generate a channel sharing map that includes a timing of communication between each base station and the one or more of the plurality of hubs, wherein each of the plurality of base stations operates to time wireless communication with the plurality of hubs based on the channel sharing map, and the one or more communication delays of the base station.

A primary media device may be configured to: operate as a server in a local network, receive audio/video (A/V) content, and provide the A/V content to a first display. A secondary media device may be communicatively connected to the primary media device and may be configured to: operate as a client with respect to the primary media device in the local network, receive the A/V content from the primary media device, and provide the A/V content to a second display. The primary media device and the secondary media device may use multiple subnets in the local network. The primary media device and/or the secondary media device may select a first subnet of the multiple subnets to use based at least in part on a type of content to communicate via the first subnet.

摘要: Various arrangements for facilitating smart television content receivers are provided. A primary television receiver (PTR) having a first operating system may be configured to receive digital content from a remote content provider and distribute the content to one or more devices in response to a request for the content. A secondary television receiver (STR) configured to be in communication with a PTR and having a second operating system may be configured to receive the digital content from the PTR and provide the content to a display for presentation. The STR may include a first software stack including first processes and a first inter-process communication (IPC) mechanism, and a second software stack including second processes and a second IPC mechanism. The first processes may use the first IPC to communicate with the second processes. The second processes may use the second IPC to communicate with others of the second processes.

摘要: An orbiting multiple access transceiver communicates with terrestrial mobile stations which are also capable of communicating with terrestrial base stations. The multiple access transceiver is configured to sample a signal when a terrestrial mobile station of interest is not transmitting to produce a sample signal. The sample signal may be processed to produce an out-of-phase signal that may be applied to a signal when the terrestrial mobile station of interest is transmitting to produce a clearer signal from the terrestrial mobile station of interest.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing mobile services are disclosed. In one implementation, an access point (AP) is provided, which may include a set of one or more base-station functions for use by a user equipment (UE) connected to the AP over a wireless communication interface. The one or more base-station functions may be configured to receive information from the UE. The AP may further include a set of one or more core-network functions configured to receive the information from the set of one or more base-station functions and a distributed portion of a service. The distributed portion of the service may be configured to receive the information from the one or more core-network functions and communicate the information to a corresponding cloud portion of the service running on a cloud platform. The service may be provided by a combination of the distributed portion and the cloud portion of the service. The distributed portion of the service may be further configured to receive a response from the cloud portion of the service based on processing performed by the cloud portion on the cloud platform.

In an example, a secondary television receiver receives audio data, converts the audio data into voice command data, and transmits the voice command data to a primary television receiver. In response, the primary television receiver transmits the voice command data to a voice processing server via the Internet, receives a command generated based on the voice command data, and transmits the command to the secondary television receiver. Based on the command, an operation of the secondary television receiver is controlled.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided to achieve dynamic bandwidth allocation among terminal groups (TGs) with proportional fairness in terms of both throughput and spectrum usage across a network. Quality of service (QoS) metrics for such TGs can be satisfied in terms of maximum throughput and spectrum utilization, while also satisfying QoS metrics such as latency, throughput, and prioritized traffic services for individual terminals within the TGs. A centralized bandwidth manager can be utilized to manage such dynamic bandwidth allocation across multiple Code Rate Organizers (CROs), including environments in which the multiple CROs manage communications across multiple IPGWs for multiple terminal groups. Because, in such environments, a given conventional CRO cannot effectively manage allocations across the entire network, the centralized bandwidth management functionality can be introduced to assess the flows for multiple TGs across multiple CROs and to make bandwidth allocations accordingly.

摘要: A system for re-using GEO-allocated communications spectrum in a LEO satellite constellation based communications system, such that the LEO satellite originated signals will not appear in the beam-width of GEO-pointed earth station antennas, and satellites configured to provide communications by manipulating their respective beam transmissions, which may include a forward beam and rearward beam whose angles are controlled to project the beam and reduce or eliminate the potential for interference with GEO-pointed earth station antennas. The system and LEO satellites may provide substantially 100% coverage of an earth station located anywhere on the surface of the earth, without coordination with the GEO satellites or GEO-pointing ground stations. The system also may provide earth stations that are configured to enhance the isolation between the GEO communications system and the LEO communications system using the same spectrum to reduce the potential for GEO-pointed earth station antennas from picking up the LEO communication.

摘要: A receive planar phased array antenna on a communications platform is used to estimate a pointing error of the antenna and to orient the antenna boresight towards the transmitter. A method for orienting the communications antenna includes: segmenting a receive phase array antenna into N sub-arrays with M-antenna elements in each sub-array; receiving, a known signal, by each of the M-antenna elements of at least four (4) of the N-sub-arrays; scanning in a direction of the known signal by applying a beam weight associated with each of the M elements in each of the at least 4-sub-arrays to obtain M-weighted signals for each of the at least 4-sub-arrays; combining the M-weighted signals for each of the at least 4-sub-arrays into signals A, B, C and D, respectively; generating an azimuth difference signal per a weighted sum of (A+B) and (C+D) and an elevation difference signal per a weighted sum of (A+C) and (B+D); computing the weights of the azimuth difference signal, such that the azimuth difference signals is driven to a zero signal; and computing the weights of the elevation difference signal, such that the elevation difference signal is driven to a zero signal.
