Abstract:
Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for vulnerability signature based Network Intrusion Detection and/or Prevention which achieves high throughput comparable to that of the state-of-the-art regex-based systems while offering improved accuracy. A candidate selection algorithm efficiently matches thousands of vulnerability signatures simultaneously using a small amount of memory. A parsing transition state machine achieves fast protocol parsing. Certain examples provide a computer-implemented method for network intrusion detection. The method includes capturing a data message and invoking a protocol parser to parse the data message. The method also includes matching the parsed data message against a plurality of vulnerability signatures in parallel using a candidate selection algorithm and detecting an unwanted network intrusion based on an outcome of the matching.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for enhancing spectral domain optical coherence tomography (OCT] are provided. In particular, a system and method for calibration of spectral interference signals using an acquired calibration signal are provided. The calibration signal may be logarithmically amplified to further improve the accuracy of the calibration. From the calibration signal, a series of more accurate calibration data are calculated. An acquired spectral interference signal is calibrated using these calibration data. Moreover, systems that include logarithmic amplification of the spectral interference signal and variable band-pass filtering of the spectral interference signal are provided. Such systems increase the dynamic range and visualization capabilities relative to conventional spectral domain OCT systems.

The present invention relates to conjugated polyelectrolyte (CPE) or oligoelectrolyte (COE) compounds represented by general structural formulae (I)-(IV), or a salt thereof and methods of using these compounds to detect targets in samples. In particular, the methods include: (1) exposing a sample to a compound of structural formula (I), (II) or (IV) or a salt thereof, allowing the compound to bind to a target and detecting a signal produced by the compound; (2) functionalizing a solid support with a ligand, incubating the sample with a charged CPE or COE and detecting the fluorescence of the solid support and thereby detecting the target or (3) functionalizing a surface of a solid support with a charged ligand, thereby creating a charge on the surface of the solid support; incubating the ligand-functionalized solid support with a sample, whereupon binding of the target, the charge on the surface of the solid support switches; incubating the sample with CPE or COE that has a complementary charge to the charge of the target-bound surface; and detecting the fluorescence of the solid support and thereby detecting the target. The compounds of the present invention possess high photoluminescence quantum yields in biological media, low cytotoxicity, and excellent environmental stability and photostability and can be used in biosensor and bioimaging applications.

The invention further relates to multichromophores, which may be conjugated polymers, and methods, articles and compositions employing them as described herein. In some aspects, the invention relates to methods, articles and compositions for the detection and analysis of biomolecules in a sample. Provided assays include those determining the presence of a target biomolecule in a sample or its relative amount, or the assays may be quantitative or semi-quantitative. The methods can be performed on a substrate. The methods can be performed in an array format on a substrate, which can be a sensor. In some embodiments, detection assays are provided employing sensor biomolecules that do not comprise a fluorophore that can exchange energy with the cationic multichromophore. In some aspects biological assays are provided in which energy is transferred between one or more of the multichromophore, a label on the target biomolecule, a label on the sensor biomolecule, and/or a fluorescent dye specific for a polynucleotide, in all permutations. The multichromophore may interact at least in part electrostatically with the sensor and/or the target, and an increase in energy transfer with the polymer may occur upon binding of the sensor and the target. Other variations of the inventions are described further herein.

Abstract:
Aspects of a method and system for a programmable interference suppression module may include receiving a communication signal comprising one or more desired signal, and one or more undesired signals. The communication signal may be utilized to generate estimated channel state information. The estimated channel state information may be formatted for use in interference suppression. A reduced interference signal may be generated from a delayed version of said communications signal and the estimated channel state information, wherein the one or more undesired signals may be attenuated. The reduced interference signal may be formatted for post-processing. The desired signals may comprise WCDMA and/or HSDPA signals, and the undesired signals may be inter-cell and/or intra-cell interference. Further processing may comprise HSDPA processing and/or RAKE finger processing. The communication signal may be a Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) compliant signal.

Abstract:
This invention relates to an aggregation sensor useful for the detection and analysis of aggregants in a sample, and methods, articles and compositions relating to such a sensor. The sensor comprises first and second optically active units, where energy may be transferred from an excited state of the first optically active unit to the second optically active unit. The second optically active unit is present in a lesser amount, but its relative concentration is increased upon aggregation, increasing its absorption of energy from the first optically active units. This increase in energy transfer can be detected in variety of formats to produce an aggregation sensing system for various aggregants, including for quantitation. Other variations of the inventions are described further herein.
Abstract:
Aspects of a method and system for compensation of interference cancellation delay are provided. In this regard, a wireless communication device may receive one or more signals and may be operable to select, whether dynamically or statically, a processing path for processing the one or more received signals. The selected processing path may comprise one of an interference cancellation processing path and a pass-through processing path. A delay introduced by the pass-through processing path may be approximately equal to a processing delay introduced by the interference cancellation processing path. The one or more received signals may comprise HSDPA signals. The selection of processing path may be based on a measure of interference present in the one or more received signals.
