摘要: A digital broadcast receiving apparatus for receiving a digital broadcast, includes a freeze determining section and a display control section. The freeze determining section determines whether or not a freeze process should be initiated on a basis of a receiving status of the digital broadcast. The freeze determining section also determines whether or not the free process being performed should be terminated on the basis of a receiving status of the digital broadcast. The display control section initiates the freeze process when the freeze determining section concludes that the freeze process should be initiated. The display control section terminates the freeze process being performed when the freeze determining section concludes that the freeze process being performed should be terminated. The freeze process includes displaying a freeze notification on a screen while changing the freeze notification so that a user recognizes the change of the freeze notification.

摘要: A discharge device for generating a streamer discharge includes a discharge electrode and a counter electrode. The discharge electrode is in a shape of a wire or rod and is disposed substantially parallel to the counter electrode. Thus, even when a tip of the discharge electrode becomes worn out, a shape of the tip of the discharge electrode remains unchanged and a distance between the discharge electrode and the counter electrode remains unchanged. As a result, even when the tip of the discharge electrode becomes worn out, the streamer discharge stability will not fall.

摘要: A computer network server provides a customized newspaper to a recipient according to recipient profile preferences. The server searches for and obtains article content that is deemed to be of greatest interest to the recipient according to topical preferences, generates a representation of the selected content according to a layout preference, and delivers the representation to the recipient according to a designated schedule. Recipient preferences are received and stored in a profile database using facilities that assist a recipient to specify preferred topics, newspaper layout, delivery schedule and destination. Topical designations are mapped into hierarchical structures that facilitate searching content databases. Newspaper articles are arranged according to relative priorities of designated topics.

摘要: The present invention provides a masterbatch method for producing a polyester resin and articles thereof; comprising reacting following materials uniformly at a temperature equal to or greater than the melting point of a polyester, the materials comprising: (1) 100 parts by weight of saturated straight-chain polyester A; (2) 1 to 10 parts by weight of binder masterbatch D comprising: a mixture containing a compound having two epoxy groups and a compound having an average number of epoxy groups of 2.1 or more; (3) 0.25 to 10 parts by weight of catalyst masterbatch G comprising: a metal carboxylate, whereby the melt viscosity of the polyester increases so that the melt flow rate (MFR) becomes 50 g/10 min or less, and the degree of swelling of the polyester increases to between 5% and 200%, thus resulting in a high-quality resin having excellent mechanical properties. The resin can be advantageously used for films, sheets, foamed materials, pipes, cushioning, heat insulators, packing materials, and so forth.
