Abstract: A refrigerator appliance includes a cabinet defining a food storage chamber. A door is positioned on the cabinet and is movable between a closed position and an open position. A door opener includes a casing, a gear box, a sliding nut movable relative to the gear box, and a finger extending through the gear box. The finger is movable with the sliding nut. The door opener also includes a sensor. The finger extends outside of the casing to contact an inner surface of the door when the door is in the closed position and the door opener is in a zero position. The sensor is configured to detect movement of the door opener from the zero position.

Abstract: A passage barrier includes two guide elements that cooperate such that they define a gate region, through which a person passes from an entrance region into a passage region. The passage barrier has a drive with a drive unit and an output unit. The drive unit, output unit, and a barrier element are operatively connected such that the barrier element is movable via the drive unit into a position closing and a position opening the gate region. The output unit has a hollow shaft with outer and inner shell surfaces. The inner shell surface and drive unit are configured such that the inner shell surface surrounds the drive unit and the hollow shaft has a mount for fixing the barrier element on the hollow shaft. The mount is arranged on the outer shell surface and formed integrally with the hollow shaft.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the technical field of spring hinges, and to a silent spring hinge, which addresses the technical shortcoming that relatively high noise is generated when an existing spring hinge used in a household appliance drives a cabinet door to close. The silent spring hinge includes a fixing base, a hinge arm and a spring assembly, a damping assembly corresponding to a side edge of a rotating wheel being further provided on the fixing base, the damping assembly including a sleeve body, a steel ball, a spring and a lock nut, an outer wall of the sleeve body being snap-fitted on the fixing base, the steel ball, the spring and the lock nut being mounted within the sleeve body in sequence, a portion of the steel ball being exposed from the sleeve body and being elastically connected to the side edge of the rotating wheel, and a deceleration groove and a self-locking groove mated with the steel ball at a final stage of the process of closing a cabinet door being provided on a gear edge of the rotating wheel. By means of the present invention, the closing speed of the cabinet door is effectively reduced, and an effect of damping is achieved, such that the cabinet door is closed in a more stable manner, and a force of the spring assembly is not affected after the spring assembly drives the cabinet door to close. The present invention is particularly suitable for use on such products as ovens and microwave ovens.

Abstract: A furniture drive system includes a mechanical control unit having a pivotably mounted control arm for moving a movable furniture part, a spring device for applying force to the control arm, and a movably mounted control part having a transmission opening for transmitting a force from the spring device to the control arm. An electrical drive unit has an electric motor for moving the movable furniture part, and a driver to be driven by the electric motor for transmitting a torque of the electric motor to the mechanical control unit. The driver can be inserted into the transmission opening, and the electrical drive unit and the mechanical control unit are designed as separate assemblies and can be fastened to each other. A contact surface for the driver is arranged laterally adjacent to the transmission opening and the driver is preloaded toward the contact surface by a force store.

Abstract: A powered garage door opener is provided for mounting to a garage wall adjacent to the garage door in a side-mounted configuration. The powered garage door opener includes a power unit containing an electric motor, a reduction gearset driven by the electric motor, and a tubular output member driven by the reduction gearset. The output member defines a pass-thru aperture configured to drivingly couple to a coupler unit that is pre-assembled onto the garage door shaft. The power unit is non-handed so as to permit installation at either or both ends of the shaft, as well as in a paired side-by-side relationship along one end.

Abstract: Dual pivoting laterally translating hinges that attach between a stationary first substrate such as a vehicle body, and a rotating second substrate such as a vehicle door, and extend laterally when the second substrate is rotated. In some examples, the hinges include a knuckle and leadscrew mechanism that changes the hinge geometry when the second substrate is rotated, causing the leadscrew to rotate by either a set of gears or a rack and pinion. In some further examples, the hinges include a jackscrew that changes length as the second substrate is rotated, causing the hinge to extent laterally.
