Abstract:
A filter cartridge in accordance with the present disclosure has a longitudinal axis and comprises a housing, a filter element, and a collar. The housing has a generally cylindrical sidewall and defines an open first end, an axially opposite second end, and a flange projecting radially away from the axis at the first end. The filter element has a ring of filter media circumscribing the axis and extending between first and second end caps. The first end cap has a generally cylindrical wall extending axially between first and second peripheral rims. The wall defines first and second seal glands adjacent the first and second rims which receive first and second seal members, respectively. A ledge projects radially outwardly from the cylindrical wall. The collar has an annular sidewall having a shoulder projecting from an inner surface. The ledge and the shoulder radially overlap and retain the flange therebetween.
Abstract:
A filter within a filter cartridge design is described that includes a sealing structure on an endplate of an outer filter element. Generally, the sealing structure includes an annular flange on the endplate that can directly seal against an interior surface of a housing when the filter cartridge is assembled for use. During filtration, the annular flange prevents a working fluid from bypassing the outer filter element. The sealing flange can seal with the housing in a press fit engagement.
Abstract:
Improvements to “no filter, no run” fluid filtration systems are described. In one example, a filter includes a movable pin cage that has a first pre-installation position adjacent the bottom end plate and is temporarily connected thereto by a snap connection system, and a second position adjacent the upper end plate where it performs a valve interaction function. In another example, a filter includes non-centered valve pins that are rotatable relative to an upper end plate of the filter.
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes a disposable filter body and a central support for the disposable filter body. Openings are provided in upper and lower ends of the disposable filter body for receiving a respective end of the central support. The filter assembly also includes a disposable filter cartridge, housed within the disposable filter body, and housing a filter member for filtering particulate contaminates from a flow of fluid through the filter assembly. The filter member is hollow and the disposable filter cartridge also includes an impermeable wall that extends axially through the filter member. The central support is separable from the disposable filter body and removable from the openings to allow disposal and replacement of the filter body and the filter cartridge during servicing.
Abstract:
A filter element for a liquid filter is arranged in the liquid filter housing that has at least two housing parts such that an inlet of the housing for liquid to be filtered is separated from an outlet of the housing for filtered liquid. The filter element has a filter medium provided with a terminal disk. The terminal disk has a seal support for an outer radial annular seal that is to be clamped in a clamping area between the housing parts that are separable from each other. The seal support of the filter element has axially at least a base member and a cover member. The base member is fixedly connected to the terminal disk. The cover member is attached to the terminal disk, to the base member, or to terminal disk and base member. The annular seal is positioned between base member and cover member.
Abstract:
A draw latch retainer is used to secure a filter cartridge to a filter head. A cam actuated retainer extends from the head to engage a keeper in the top of the cartridge. Rotation of the cam draws the retainer and cartridge axially toward the head into an installed position. The retainer extends through an aperture in the upper portion of the cartridge to apply a retention force against the bottom side of the keeper. The keeper and upper portion of the cartridge supporting the keeper are configured to transmit the retaining force laterally across the top of the cartridge. A pair of axial conduits project from the cartridge and mount O-ring seals for implementing an axial sealing interface with passages in the head.
Abstract:
A filter element includes a ring of filtration media circumscribing a central axis and defining a central cavity. An annular end cap of the filter element is sealingly bonded at an end of the media. The end cap includes a central opening into the central cavity, and a lateral opening spaced laterally outward from the central opening. The central opening includes a threaded connection portion to enable the element to be spun-on to a complimentarily-threaded connection portion of a filter head. The connection portion of the central opening includes at least one axially-extending slot opening radially away from the connection portion.
Abstract:
A composite filter apparatus includes a container with a receiving space, and top and bottom openings communicated with the receiving space. A filter member includes a filter core in the receiving space, a blocking member on a top end of the filter core, and a retainer plate on a bottom end of the filter core. The receiving space is divided by the blocking member into an upper receiving space that communicates the top opening of the container, and a lower receiving space that surrounds the filter core and that communicates the bottom opening. Activated carbon particles are filled in the upper and lower receiving spaces.
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes a head, a filter housing which can be connected to the head, and a filter element which can be received in the filter housing. The filter element includes a tubular wall provided with a filtration medium; a first end part provided at a first axial end of the filter element; and a second end part provided at a second axial end of the filter element. The second end part of the filter element is provided with a either a protrusion or an undercut opening, on the one hand, and the second end of the housing is provided with either an undercut opening or a protrusion, on the other hand. A side of the protrusion or opening is provided with a sloping face which slopes at a slope with respect to the axial direction of the filter element.
Abstract:
A filtration assembly generally includes a housing having a first end configured to interface with an outer container and having a second end configured to interface with an inner sleeve, wherein the housing includes a plurality of apertures configured to pass a liquid therethrough, and a counting device carried by the housing, wherein the counting device is configured to indicate to a user that an associated filter is exhausted.
