Abstract:
The present invention concerns a method for reducing the amount of polluting and/or valuable elements through application of electrolysis, in particular of the electrocapturing phenomenon. The electrolysis according to the present invention is applied permanently over time in a polluted water body. The predetermined action area (115bis, 115ter) preferably has a smaller extension than the water body. The at least one phenomenon (125bis, 125ter) is preferably powered electrically through production of electrical energy in loco through at least one renewable energy source (140). The method is suitable for purifying large expanses of water, like seas, lakes, lagoons and rivers, through plants operating permanently, however this does not rule out other applications.
Abstract:
Devices and methods are provided for in-line water treatment using strong magnetic fields to influence corrosion, separate toxins, suppress bacteria and bio-fouling, as well as inhibit or greatly reduce mineral scaling due to fluid flow in or around equipment components. For example, a device is provided for applying a magnetic field to a portion of tubing through which a fluid flow, such as water, is conveyed. The device includes a number of links joined together via detachable pivoting connections, such that links may be removed and/or links may be added, thereby allowing a diameter of the device to be adjusted so as to accommodate larger or smaller piping, as necessary, for retrofitting applications. The use of magnetic treatment of fluids such as water may allow extended cycles of operation with higher concentration of mineral salts without the use of chemical scaling suppressants.
Abstract:
A village water filtration system includes a vertical tube which can be filled with non-potable water, attached to a human powered or other air pressurization source, the pressurized air forcing the flow of the water out of the tube and through a series of filters, producing potable water. The air pressurization source may be a common bicycle pump. The filtration media would be attached by a pipe proximal the lower chamber of the tube, whereas water and pressurized air would enter proximal the top of the tube. A series of check valves prevents the pressurized air and water from exiting anywhere except through the series of filters. Accessory ports for placing eater treatment chemicals may be provided. A clean out port is provided near the bottom of the vertical tube to remove sediment which may accumulate there. Advanced models may employ UV light, ozonation or other water cleaning devices and techniques.
Abstract:
A segmented, stackable wastewater treatment apparatus suitable for small remote and temporary camps is provided. The segments are typically flat cylindrical in shape and contain permanent biofiltration medium such as absorbent foam. They are transported to site in small vehicles or aircraft and assembled into a stack to treat the sewage. After use, they are disassembled into the component segments, which are then transported by small vehicles or aircraft to the next site, re-assembled in a stack, and re-used.
Abstract:
An intermodal container converted to a tank for processing wastewater has a process wall detachable from a hatchway in a wall of the container. The process wall is bolted to an interior facing flange in the container wall and is installed so as to sandwich a gasket and a lip between the process wall and the flange. When the process wall is at a container end wall, first components for interface with water to be treated are sealingly fixed into one part of the process wall designed to be below the level of contained water. Second process components such as those associated with communication cabling, power cabling or piping to be run through the converted container are sealingly fixed into an upper part of the process wall above a design level of contained water to be treated.
Abstract:
Some demonstrative embodiments of the invention include an illumination-based liquid disinfection device. The disinfection device may include, for example, a light transparent conduit to carry a flowing liquid to be disinfected, the conduit having an inlet to receive the liquid and an outlet to discharge the liquid, a substantially light transparent sleeve having external dimensions smaller than the internal dimensions of the conduit, the sleeve positioned within the conduit substantially perpendicular to the axis of symmetry of the conduit and a light source positioned within the sleeve.
Abstract:
An electrolysis device with a rectifier comprises: an electrolytic cell; a joint panel with a first surface joined to the electrolytic cell; an electrode module comprising a housing, a plurality of electrodes provided inside the housing, and an auxiliary panel joined to a second surface of the joint panel, the auxiliary panel having a first end installed in the electrolytic cell and a second end perpendicularly protruding from an external periphery of a second end of the housing; a rectifier module having a second side surface from which an electrode protrudes; an L-shaped panel joined to second surface of the joint panel and any side surface of the rectifier module; and a bus bar that connects the electrode of the electrode module to the electrode of the rectifier module.
Abstract:
A modular methane digester facility includes prefabricated portable concrete panels and a flexible membrane roof sealing an interior space of the methane digester. A separator-conveyor dewatering device, integratable into the front end of the methane digester facility, separates a semi-solid liquid manure into a liquid portion and a solid portion. A method of dual-stage methane digestion includes stacking a solid stage in a methane digester and supplying a liquid stage to the top of the solid stage. The liquid stage percolates by gravity through the solid stage, the solid stage acts as a filter for the liquid stage, and the liquid stage acts as a methanogenic buffer for the solid stage. A method of pre-heating a mass of solids in a methane digester to a mesophilic temperature includes supplying oxygen to the mass of solids in the form of ambient air supplied to the methane digester by a reverse-air pump.

Abstract:
The instant invention describes a device and system for dispensing microbial solutions into a wastewater treatment environment. The device contains one or more removable modules that provides the user with the capability of quickly and easily removing one or more of the modules without the need for replacing or removing the entire unit. The modules are preferably designed to hold bags filled with a microbial solution. The bags are fluidly connected to a pump which dispenses the solution to a predetermined location.
