Abstract:
A method for replicating I/O performance in data replication environments, such as PPRC environments, is described. In selected embodiments, such a method includes monitoring I/O workload at a primary storage device over a period of time, such as a period of hours, days, or months. The method then generates learning data at the primary storage device describing the I/O workload over the selected time period. The learning data is replicated from the primary storage device to a secondary storage device. The method uses the learning data to optimize the secondary storage device to handle the I/O workload of the primary storage device. This will enable the secondary storage device to provide substantially the same I/O performance as the primary storage device in the event a failover occurs. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed and claimed herein.

The present invention discloses a method for aligning each scheduling service in an optical transport network. When a cross scheduling unit in a cross board sends service data to each service board, inserts a frame header indication signal into the sent service data, data frames in the sent service data are aligned according to the frame header indication signal, each service board performs a delay to the above service data according to a service delay time when receiving the service data and extracting the frame header indication signal, after the delay time is up, encapsulates the service data to be scheduled and sends to the cross broad to be cached, aligned and scheduled. The present invention also discloses a system for aligning each scheduling service in an optical transport network. Thus, before the cross board schedules each path of service, each service board does not need an independent signal wire for providing the frame header indication signal, and is able to basically align frame headers of the service data sent by each path, which is convenient to design the system and provides convenience for capacity expansion of the cross scheduling capacity of the optical transport network.

A hybrid automatic repeat request method of a downlink tunnel comprising the following steps: the base station transmits the tunnel data comprising the protocol data unit of multiple mobile stations to the access relay station via the tunnel link, and receives the feedback from the relay station until the access relay station receives the data correctly; the access relay station analyzes the protocol data unit of each mobile station from the tunnel data, transmits the protocol data unit of each mobile station to the corresponding mobile station, and performs the corresponding process after receiving the feedback from each mobile station.

A channel estimating method is provided for a signal transmitted in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, wherein an OFDM symbol of the signal has at least one null subcarrier set in its defined bandwidth. The method includes: obtaining at least one initial channel estimate over at least one OFDM symbol of a received signal; processing the at least one initial channel estimate for delivering at least one soft information in a form of a complete matrix; and updating the at least one initial channel estimate by performing a truncated singular value decomposition of a partial FFT matrix. The partial FFT matrix includes only the first LDP columns and the rows NDP of an FFT matrix of the complete matrix, the NDP rows corresponding to modulated subcarriers of received signal, including data and pilot symbols and excluding the at least one null subcarrier, delivering an improved channel estimate.

Provided herein are methods of treating a cancer in a subject comprising administering a FOXP3 protein, a nucleic acid encoding a FOXP3 protein, or an inducing compound which induces FOXP3 protein expression. Methods of altering a phenotype of a cancer cell or tumor cell, methods of inhibiting growth of such cells, and methods of inducing apoptosis of these cells are also provided herein. These methods comprise contacting the cell with a FOXP3 protein, a nucleic acid encoding a FOXP3 protein, or an inducing compound which induces FOXP3 protein expression. Further provided herein are diagnostic methods, comprising comparing the expression or structure of a FOXP3 protein or FOXP3 gene in a test sample to that of a normal or prior sample. A method of screening a test compound for anti-cancer activity comprising administering to cells the test compound and measuring FOXP3 protein or FOXP3 gene expression is moreover provided herein.

A method for managing haul routes in work environments comprises collecting performance data associated with a machine operating in a work environment. The method also includes determining a drive axle torque of the machine and estimating a total effective grade associated with the machine based on the drive axle torque. The estimated total effective grade is compared with a threshold level and, if the estimated total effective grade exceeds the threshold level, a design performance of the machine may be simulated based on the calculated total effective grade. Design performance data is compared with the collected performance data, and a payload limit of the machine is adjusted if the design performance is inconsistent with collected performance data.

A method for designing a haul road based on machine performance comprises receiving one or more haul road parameters and identifying at least one type of machine to be operated on the haul road. The method also includes selecting at least one target operating parameter associated with the at least one type of machine and simulating performance of the at least one type of machine to predict an operating value corresponding with the at least one target operating parameter. If the predicted operating value is not within a threshold range of the corresponding target operating parameter, one or more haul road parameters are adjusted.

A method for configuring IP addresses of a router broadcasts a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) discover packet over a network for receiving a DHCP offer packet sent from the modem. The DHCP offer packet comprises the private IP address of the modem. The method further obtains the private IP address of the modem from the DHCP offer packet, and configures IP addresses of a WAN port and a LAN port of the router according to the private IP address of the modem, so as to allow the private IP address of the modem to be in the same network segment with the IP address of the WAN port but in different network segments with the IP address of the LAN port.
