Abstract:
A composite cable or rope is described. The cable or rope has an inner metallic rope or core, consisting of a plurality of metal strands, and a plurality of covering layers formed around the inner metallic core. An innovative anchoring and safety system is also described. The system has one or more anchorages, fixed to the roof, in each of which the rope is stably locked by screwing, so as not to create instability problems for people attached to the rope.
Abstract:
The abrasion resistance of organic fiber based ropes and cords is increased by a outer woven cover of tapes of high molecular weight and more preferably ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene.
Abstract:
A yarn object which, even though made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene, can be satisfactorily prevented from color fading caused by contact with other objects or the like, can be produced easily at low cast, and can maintain high strength. The yarn object is colored with a colorant. The yarn object includes a core yarn 2 colored with a predetermined colorant and an outer-layer yarn 3 disposed on the periphery of the core yarn. The outer-layer yarn 3 is disposed in such a manner that the core yarn 2 is prevented from contacting with other objects. The outer-layer yarn 3 includes a transparent filament and a space 4 is formed between the outer-layer yarns 3. The color applied to the core yarn 2 is externally visible through the transparent outer-layer yarn 3 and the space therebetween 4.
Abstract:
A colored suture includes an elongate woven braid of filaments including one or more ends made of an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The suture also includes second and third ends which can be colorable or dyeable before or after incorporation into the elongate woven braid. This invention provides surgeons with improved recognition of suture ends in surgery by construction of a hi-colored co-braid with at least two ends of different color schemes or patterns braided into a UHMWPE construction. One of the colored ends runs continuously from one end of the suture to the other end. The other colored end can be colored only on one half of the end. This provides a suture with two distinguishable ends, while still maintaining a continuous line of color along the length of the suture.
Abstract:
A rope (3) is described for a tropospheric aeolian generator (1) composed, in length, of at least one first sector (4) adapted to resist to repeated flexure cycles, having a safety coefficient (S1), a diameter D(b1) and an aerodynamic resistance coefficient (CD1); at least one second sector (5) adapted to resist to repeated traction cycles with great load, having a safety coefficient S2
Abstract:
A mooring loop is provided for use with connecting a mooring line to a bollard. The mooring loop may stretch and function as a time delay fuse when excessive loads are applied to the mooring line. The mooring loop is comprised of a reactive fiber component in the shape of a continuous loop that includes a plurality of at least one of: an undrawn hydrophobic polymer fiber or a substantially undrawn hydrophobic polymer fiber. At least two jackets are in surrounding relation to portions of the reactive fiber component. The at least two jackets include respective end portions which overlap. As the mooring loop stretches, a visual indicator on an end portion of one of the jackets pulls out of and away from the end portion of the other one of the jackets. The visual indicator serves as a warning that excessive loads are being applied to the mooring line.
Abstract:
A floating cord is provided, and includes a surface layer, a tube, and a plurality of floating members. The floating members are disposed in the tube, and the tube is disposed in the surface layer. The floating cord can float on water so that it can be used to connect to keys or glasses to prevent the keys or glasses from sinking into water.
Abstract:
A roundsling for lifting loads includes an inner non-interwoven structure and a covering which receives the inner non-interwoven, the covering taking the form of a hollow braided structure and its end portions being inserted in one another and being connected together to overlap one another in a connection zone. In a roundsling of this kind, there is formed, in that end portion which is on the outside in the connection zone, at least one lateral opening which leads to the circumferential surface of the end portion, and that there is held, in that end portion which is on the inside in the connection zone, a securing member which is passed through the opening in that end portion which is on the outside.

Abstract:
A rope with a core and a casing surrounding the core. The core is composed of a multitude of synthetic fibers and the casing is composed of a multitude of synthetic fibers that are interlaced with one another. The synthetic fibers that form the casing are composed of polytetrafluoroethylene and form a lightproof and fluid-repellent envelope for the core.
