Abstract: An electrostatic capacitive coupling type touch panel including an input region having four sides, a peripheral region around the input region, terminals formed in the peripheral region along a first side of the input region, wirings formed in the peripheral region along second, third and fourth sides of the input region, and the input region having X and Y electrodes crossing. The wirings are connected between corresponding X or Y electrodes and wiring terminals plurality of terminals. A dummy wiring, which is not connected to any of the X electrodes or Y electrodes, is provided outside the wiring formed in a farthest position from the input region, and the dummy wiring extends through the peripheral region along the second, third and fourth sides of the input region, and electrically connects to at least one dummy wiring terminal.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a LCD panel having a first polarizer, a first substrate, a second substrate and a second polarizer are sequentially provided from a front surface side, a frame which surrounds the LCD panel and has a first opening having first to fourth sides, a planar light source disposed on the rear surface side of the LCD panel in the first opening, a plurality of optical sheet groups which are disposed between the planar light source and the LCD panel, and an adhesive layer which has a second opening formed along the first to fourth sides of the frame. A front surface side of the adhesive layer is adhered to the LCD panel along at least the first side, and a rear surface side of the adhesive layer is adhered to the plurality of optical sheet groups and the frame along at least the first side.

Abstract: A manufacturing method of a touch panel includes the steps of providing a substrate, forming a first conductive film on the substrate, forming a first mask on the first conductive film, etching the first conductive film to form electrode portions and lower intersect portions of the touch panel, forming an insulating film made of a negative resist on the first conductive film, and forming a contact hole above the electrode portion by removing the insulating film. The steps further include forming a second conductive film on the insulating film, forming a second mask on the second conductive film, etching the second conductive film to form an upper intersect portion connected between two adjacent electrode portions via the contact hole and intersecting with the lower intersect portion, and forming protective film on the second conductive film.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a light shielding plate having an opening, a protective plate, and a coordinate input device having a transparent substrate, and a first flexible interconnect substrate. The coordinate input device is disposed on the display panel at the side of a display screen, and each of the light shielding plate and the protective plate is arranged on the coordinate input device on the opposite side of the display panel. The coordinate input device has first signal interconnects and a second signal interconnect disposed outside the first signal interconnects but near a peripheral edge of the transparent substrate. The second signal interconnect is formed of a thin conductive film disposed along a peripheral edge portion of the transparent substrate, and is disposed along the peripheral edge of three sides of the transparent substrate.

Abstract: A display device includes a temperature sensor which is arranged in the inside of a housing, and a control unit which calculates a temperature of a display panel based on an output value of the temperature sensor. The control unit calculates the temperature of the display panel based on a current output value of the temperature sensor and an output value of the temperature sensor received prior to the receiving of the current output value. With such a display device, the temperature of the display panel can be calculated with high accuracy even when a temperature of a device which constitutes a heat source is changed.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device including a TFT substrate with display and peripheral regions. The display region has pixels each having a pixel electrode and a TFT. A counter substrate opposes the TFT substrate and has a color filter formed at a position corresponding to a position at which the pixel electrode is formed above the TFT substrate. The method includes coating, outside of the display region of the TFT substrate, a second alignment film in the shape of a frame, and coating, in the display region, a first alignment film that dries more slowly than the second alignment film.
