Abstract: The invention provides a process for the production of glycols comprising the step of adding to a reactor vessel a saccharide-containing feedstock, a solvent, hydrogen, a retro-aldol catalyst composition and a catalyst precursor and maintaining the reactor vessel at a temperature and a pressure, wherein the catalyst precursor comprises one or more cations selected from groups 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the periodic table, and wherein the catalyst precursor is reduced in the presence of hydrogen in the reactor vessel into an unsupported hydrogenation catalyst.

Abstract: Presented is a composition useful in the catalytic dewaxing of a waxy hydrocarbon feedstock. The composition includes a mixture of ZSM-12 zeolite and titania and may further include a noble metal. The ZSM-12 zeolite preferably has a high silica-to-alumina ratio within its framework. The mixture may be dealuminated either by acid leaching using a fluorosilicate salt or by steam treating.

Abstract: An electromechanically operated fuel nozzle having continuously adjustable flow rate settings between a closed position and maximum flow. The fuel nozzle includes a fuel dispensing pipe for dispensing fuel; an electromechanical valve device to control a flow of fuel in the fuel dispensing pipe, comprising an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe. The electromechanical valve device comprises at least one continuously variable flow electromechanical valve to control the flow of fuel; an electronic board for operating the at least one continuously variable flow electromechanical valve; and electric accumulator means for electrically powering the at least one variable flow electromechanical valve and the electronic board such that the predetermined portions provide the particular one of the flow rate settings. The electromechanical valve preferably comprises a servomotor controlled ball valve.

Abstract: A method for generating an improved stack from wide azimuth data. This is accomplished by displaying gather traces in a geometrically sensible way that depends on gather and processing type. Once a gather is available in such a manner, a geoscientist can use various geometric or freehand shapes to indicate which traces from the gather to stack and which to ignore. Given sufficient computing power, this can be done interactively, allowing a geoscientist to determine a set of traces that create an optimal stack at a single location in the output cube. Multiple locations can be improved in this manner and a final stack can be generated that contains a blended agglomeration of all of the improvements.
