The present invention relates to a charge transfer device having high transfer efficiency without leaving over signal charges, a charge transfer device substantially shortened in the gate length so as to enhance the transfer speed, and a method of manufacturing and a method of driving such device. In the charge transfer device of the invention, the n.sup.- diffusion layer is formed on the semiconductor substrate. In the surface region of the n.sup.- diffusion layer, a plurality of n diffusion layers are formed at equal intervals. The interval of the adjacent n diffusion layers is about 5 to 10 .mu.m. On the n.sup.- diffusion layer, an insulation film is formed. On the insulation film, transfer electrodes having two different shapes are formed. The transfer electrodes of these two types are alternately arranged. These transfer electrodes differ in length. The length of the longer transfer electrodes is about twice the length of the shorter transfer electrodes. Furthermore, the right end of the n diffusion layer nearly coincides with the right end of the longer transfer electrodes formed on the gate oxide film in the spatial position.

Disclosed is a donepezil-containing transdermally absorbable preparation which develops reduced adverse side effects and shows a satisfactory level of therapeutic effect. The preparation comprises an adhesive and a donepezil component (containing crystalline donepezil having type-B crystal polymorphism) and/or a salt thereof, wherein the donepezil component or the salt thereof is contained in an amount of 9 to 50% by mass relative to the total weight of the adhesive. The preparation (particularly, one having a non-aqueous adhesive layer) shows an excellent penetration of donepezil and/or a salt thereof into the skin, retains good stability of the active ingredient therein, and is remarkably reduced in local stimulation and adverse side effects.

According to the present invention, there can be realized highly reliable optical information processing equipment enabling high recording density, which is capable of sufficiently recording or reproducing a dynamic image in or from a high-definition TV. An n-type impurity is doped in a barrier layer of a quantum-well active layer of a semiconductor light emitting device at a high density. Alternatively, the oriented plane of a quantum-well active layer of a semiconductor light emitting device is inclined from the (0001) plane, whereby the threshold current value of the semiconductor light emitting device can be reduced. The semiconductor light emitting device is represented by a gallium nitride based compound semiconductor laser device.
