Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method includes, by a first mobile device, obtaining a data packet and determining, from a first set of resources, control resources for transmitting scheduling information associated with the data packet. The control resources include a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH). The method includes determining, by the first mobile device from a second set of resources, acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) resources associated with the data packet and related to the control resources. The scheduling information includes transmission information for transmitting the data packet and an indication of the ACK/NACK resources. The method includes transmitting, by the first mobile device to a second mobile device, the scheduling information on the control resources and the data packet on a set of resources indicated by the transmission information and listening, by the first mobile device, for an ACK/NACK transmitted by the second mobile device on the ACK/NACK resources.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided to support device-to-device (D2D) communications in a time-division duplexing (TDD) communications system, and ensure that D2D discovery signals are transmitted by user devices on an uplink subframe when there is a TDD frame configuration change. In an embodiment, a user device receives form the network a TDD frame configuration selected from a set of available TDD frame configurations according to the TDD configuration. The device further receives a D2D discovery configuration for a discovery time interval. The user device then allocates a transmission resource a D2D discovery signal within the discovery time interval according to the D2D discovery configuration. The user device is also configured to receive from another device a second D2D discovery signal during the discovery time interval in accordance with the TDD configuration and the D2D discovery configuration.

Abstract: An embodiment of a system for operating a communications controller for a group of user equipments engaged in a direct mobile communication (“DMC”) link in a wireless communications system is provided. The communications controller is configured to allocate a set of subframes to the group of UEs for the DMC link, signal the set of allocated subframes to the group of UEs, and signal a length of a sliding window to the group of UEs. In an embodiment, ACK/NACK feedback for communications over the DMC link is aggregated according to the length of the sliding window, and the ACK/NACK feedback for the communications over the DMC link is determined independently from ACK/NACK feedback for cellular transmission between the communication controller and the group of UEs. In an embodiment, the length of the sliding window is a number of subframes.
