Abstract:
The invention relates to compounds of formula: ##STR1## The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the said compounds, which consists in: a) reacting dianhydro-1,4:3,6-D-glucitol with a compound of formula RCOOR' or RCH.sub.2 Y in the presence of a catalyst to form compounds of formula: ##STR2## in which: Y represents a halogen or an alkyl or arylsulfonic radical, R' represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R represents a saturated or unsaturated linear or branched alkyl radical containing from 5 to 21 carbon atoms, x represents CO or CH.sub.2 ; b) reacting the product of step a) with phosphorus oxychloride, a base and an anhydrous solvent, to form the compounds of formula (I) and/or (II), and optionally in separating them. The compounds which form the subject of the invention can be used in the field of surfactants, in particular for the preparation of cosmetic or hair compositions.
Abstract:
The invention concerns inhibitor compositions based on fatty sulphydryl acid and poly(ethyleneamino)imidazoline salts for considerably reducing the corrosive effect of carbon brine on iron and ferrous metals. These compositions are as efficient when the corrosive medium is driven with a high flowrate and in biphasic brine/oil medium.
Abstract:
Acrylic copolymers for use as additives for inhibiting paraffin deposition in crude oils, and compositions containing the oils and said additives, are disclosed. Specifically, polymeric additives useful for inhibiting paraffin deposition in and improving the flow properties of crude oils, and compositions containing the crude petroleum oils and said additives, are disclosed. Said additives are essentially alcohol acrylate copolymers comprising 10-50 carbons with special chain distributions, as well as the corresponding 2- and/or 4-vinylpyridine terpolymers.
Abstract:
A process of manufacture of phenolic resins using calcium catalysis not comprising any filtration stage. This result is obtained by holding back the precipitation of the calcium species by the combined use of a chelatant/sequestrant and of a dispersing anionic polymer. Resins which are stable in storage and with excellent water tolerance.
Abstract:
1) Method of preparing a polyurethane with polyurethane-polyether and polyurethane-polyester blocks with at least 2 polyurethane-polyester end blocks joined to an alkoxysilane end group, said method comprising: (i) reaction of a polyether polyol (A) with a stoichiometric excess of an aliphatic diisocyanate (B), then (ii) reaction of the polyurethane formed in step (i) with a stoichiometric excess of a polyester polyol (C), then (iii) reaction of the polyurethane formed in step (ii) with a stoichiometric amount of an isocyanatosilane (D). 2) Polyurethane formed by said method.3) Corresponding adhesive composition, further comprising a crosslinking catalyst.4) Method of assembly of 2 substrates employing said composition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to cleavable surfactants of formula: in which R′ and R, which may be identical or different, represent a hydrogen atom or a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical, the sum of the carbon atoms of R′ and R being between 5 and 42. The invention also relates to the corresponding derivatives obtained by alkaline hydrolysis or amidation. The invention furthermore relates to the preparation of these surfactants from glucono-1(5)-lactone and a compound of formula R—CO—R′ in the presence of an acid catalyst, R and R′ having the meaning given above. The surfactants are used in particular in emulsion polymerization and in the field of cosmetics.
Abstract:
The invention relates to fluoroalkyl derivatives of uronic acids of the formula: ##STR1## and the corresponding lactones, as well as a process for the preparation of the said compounds, which comprises reacting a glycosiduronic acid or a glycosiduronolactone with an alcohol of formula R.sub.1 OH, which process may also include steps of basiciation and acidification. The compounds according to the invention may be used in particular as surfactants.
