    摘要: An endoscope including: a light source for emitting light; a solid state imaging unit comprising a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements for accumulating signal charges corresponding to an incidence light amount, transfer units for transferring signal charges accumulated in the photoelectric conversion elements, and a plurality of color filters formed above the photoelectric conversion elements; and a transmission tube accommodating the light source and the solid state imaging unit, wherein the color filters include red, green and blue color filters, and the number of red photoelectric conversion elements upon which light transmitted through the red color filters are incident is larger than the number of green photoelectric conversion elements upon which light transmitted through the green color filters are incident and the number of blue photoelectric conversion elements upon which light transmitted through the blue color filters are incident. The endoscope can obtain a high quality image.

    摘要: A solid-state imaging device constructed according to the TSL system having a plurality of photodiodes arrayed in matrix form so as to serve as a group of pixels, a vertical selection gate line extending from a vertical scanning circuit, a horizontal selection gate line extending from a horizontal scanning circuit, and a signal read line. A projection made of an impurity layer identical to that of the photodiodes is formed at an end of each of the photodiodes. A first switching transistor is formed by interconnecting the vertical selection gate line made of a polysilicon layer so as to cross over an upper surface of each of the projections. A second switching transistor is formed by laminating a gate portion made of a polysilicon layer on the other upper surface of each of the projections. Horizontal selection gate lines are formed by connecting between the vertically arrayed gate portions and an interconnection made of a conductor layer such as an aluminum layer insulatively laminated above the polysilicon layer. Signal read lines are formed by a conductive layer fabricated by a process identical to that of the conductive layer, and each signal read line is interconnected so that the upper surface of the projection and the upper surfaces of the first and second switching transistors are shielded thereby, and that the signal read line does not come in contact with the conductive layer forming the horizontal selection gate line.

    摘要: A solid-state imaging device has a single plate structure and is capable of imaging of visible light and infrared light. While imaging of the visible light and the infrared light is performed by the imaging device every one-frame scanning period, an IR pulse is emitted, every other one-frame scanning period, to a space to be shot. A visible-light image is produced every one-frame scanning period. A range image from which influence to be caused by infrared component of the ambient light is removed is produced every other one-frame scanning period by subtracting an IR pixel image (S2IR), which is obtained by imaging of non-emission time of the IR pulse, from an IR pixel signal (S1IR), which is obtained by imaging of emission time of the IR pulse.

    摘要: A bi-directional shift register capable of transferring bit data in either a forward or reverse direction. The shift register includes multiple transfer elements (e.g., flip-flop circuits) cascaded together which provide synchronous transfer of the bit data from one stage to an adjacent stage in either direction. The shift register further includes two switching circuits for electrically connecting an input terminal of one transfer element to an output terminal of the adjacent transfer element. The first switching circuit is enabled to cause the transfer of the bit data in the forward direction, and the second switching circuit is enabled to cause the transfer of the bit data in the reverse direction.

    摘要: A solid-state image pickup apparatus of a charge transfer type includes a solid-state imaging device having an array of photosensitive cells with charge divider paths provided for sequentially receiving charges generated in the cells of a horizontal line to divide the charges into two groups for each pixel. For one of the two fields subjected to interlace scanning, charges generated in the cells of odd-numbered lines are transferred to its output port, and one of the two groups of charges for even-numbered horizontal lines adjacent to odd-numbered horizontal lines are discharged. Then, the output port effects addition with weight on the charges from the cells of the odd- and even-numbered lines to produce video signals of the odd-numbered lines. For the other field, on the other hand, charges generated in the cells of even-numbered lines are transferred to the output port, and one of the two groups of charges for odd-numbered horizontal lines are discharged. The output port in turn effects addition with weight on the charges from the cells of the even-numbered lines thus obtained to those of odd-numbered lines previously received to produce video signals of the even-numbered lines. Field flickering is adequately reduced and horizontal resolution of a picture is improved.
