摘要: A method and apparatus for performing a mid transaction refresh of DRAM and handling a suspend signal from a master. A timer is used to provide a refresh request at predetermined intervals. The refresh request is made to a DRAM state machine. The DRAM state machine performs a DRAM refresh responsive to the refresh request. The refresh is performed by manipulating the RAS and CAS signal while showing a master of the transaction a series of wait states. The suspend signal from the master is received by a DRAM state machine. The DRAM state machine will loop within its then current state as long as the suspend signal is asserted. The RAS, CAS and other control signals are maintained in the states existing when the suspend signal was asserted unless external signals (e.g., a refresh request) force a change in state of the control signals. At least one CAS state machine handles the assertion of CAS. The CAS state machine is suspended responsive to the suspend signal and will bounce between a suspend state and a predetermined state as long as the suspend signal is asserted. The CAS state machine will be suspended if at all before the falling edge of a write transfer, or before the rising edge of a read transfer.

摘要: An apparatus for caramelizing a cut surface of a split bread product is provided. The apparatus comprises a substantially flat heatable surface and at least one pedestal magnetically coupled to and in heat transfer communication with the flat surface, and extending upwardly therefrom. The pedestal defines an upper contact surface for receiving and supporting the split bread product. The contact surface is formed to substantially conform to the contour of the cut surface of the split bread product, to apply heat directly to the cut surface to caramelize the inner surface thereof.

摘要: A holographic recording medium having a polymer matrix comprising a developer, wherein the holographic recording medium is capable of recording a latent hologram and the developer is capable of developing the latent hologram into a readable hologram by activation of the developer is disclosed. The holographic recording medium is capable of storing large numbers of holograms in the same volume with better signal resolution than previous holographic media by first recording a multitude of latent (or very weak) holograms in the same volume of space, then applying preferably a non-chemical fixing step to develop the latent holograms into readable holograms. The holographic recording medium and method of this invention cause the holograms to increase in diffraction efficiency, thus preventing complications caused during recording of holograms whereby previously recorded holograms interfere with latter recorded holograms in the same volume of space within the media.

摘要: An apparatus for evaporating liquid samples contained in sample holders mounted within a chamber and by rotated by the rotor during an evaporation process in which the pressure in the chamber is reduced below atmospheric and the sample holders are rotated at high speed so as to exert centrifugal force on the contents of the holders. Heat is supplied to elevate the temperature of the liquid component of the samples to assist in the evaporation process. The temperature of the sample material is continuously or regularly monitored during the evaporation process and temperature signals are transmitted to a remote computing means which is programmed to generate a control signal for controlling the supply of heat to the samples and controlling the evaporation process. The temperature may be sensed by a probe in a sample holder containing an evaporating liquid sample, or in an adjoining sample holder containing a buffer liquid. The rotational speed is also sensed and a speed signal conveyed to the computing means.

摘要: A method is described for evaporating liquid samples contained in sample holders mounted within a chamber and rotated by the rotor during an evaporation process in which the pressure in the chamber is reduced below atmospheric and the sample holders are rotated at high speed so as to exert centrifugal force on the contents of the holders. In an alternative method the rate of flow of vapor from the chamber is monitored and a flow rate signal is computed which is also supplied to the computer means and the evaporation process is controlled in relation to the value of the vapor flow rate signal. Improved methods of heating and means for supporting sample holders which are to be heated, to achieve more uniform heating thereof, within an evaporating chamber, are described. Apparatus for performing the various methods is also described.
