    摘要: A device and a method for reducing wind resistance power of a large geotechnical centrifuge are provided. A semicircular tube cylindrical cooling device is provided between an internal side of a high-speed rotor system and a cylindrical shell. A serpentine top semicircular tube cooling plate is provided right above a hanging basket, and return helium gas inlet holes are provided at a center of the top semicircular tube cooling plate. A helium gas in a helium gas storage tank passes through helium gas outlets on the helium gas inlet pipes, and enters a centrifuge chamber from a bottom sealing plate. The helium gas is used to replace air in the centrifuge chamber to reduce the wind resistance power and corresponding energy consumption. No vacuuming is required, so sealing requirements are lower. Heat dissipation equipment is placed inside the centrifuge chamber, and a helium gas circulation wind duct is added.

    摘要: A centrifuge device and method for use are presented. The centrifuge device includes a housing, a chamber, a channel, and a cover. The housing includes a first port and a vent opening and is designed to rotate about an axis passing through a center of the housing. The chamber is defined within the housing and is coupled to the first port. A first portion of the chamber has a width that tapers between a first width at a first position and a second width at a second position within the chamber, the first width being greater than the second width. The channel is coupled to the second position of the chamber and arranged such that a path exists for gas to travel from the channel to the vent opening. The cover provides a wall that seals the chamber.

The system includes a rotor, a stator, a stator housing, upper and lower bearing plates, upper and lower bearings, first and second snap rings, and lip seal. The upper bearing rotatably secures a shaft of the rotor in the upper bearing plate. The first snap ring secures the upper bearing to the rotor shaft. The upper and lower bearing plates are secured to the stator housing so that the rotor is operatively aligned with the stator.

    摘要: A method is described for evaporating liquid samples contained in sample holders mounted within a chamber and rotated by the rotor during an evaporation process in which the pressure in the chamber is reduced below atmospheric and the sample holders are rotated at high speed so as to exert centrifugal force on the contents of the holders. Heat is supplied to elevate the temperature of the liquid component of the samples to assist in the evaporation process. The temperature of the sample material is continuously or regularly monitored during the evaporation process and temperature signals are transmitted to a remote computing means which is programmed to generate a control signal for controlling the supply of heat to the samples and controlling the evaporation process. The temperature may be sensed by a probe in a sample holder containing an evaporating liquid sample, or in an adjoining sample holder containing a buffer liquid. The rotational speed is also sensed and a speed signal conveyed to the computing means. In an alternative method the rate of flow of vapour from the chamber is monitored and a flow rate signal is computed which is also supplied to the computer means and the evaporation process is controlled in relation to the value of the vapour flow rate signal. Improved methods of heating and means for supporting sample holders which are to be heated, to achieve more uniform heating thereof, within an evaporating chamber, are described. Apparatus for performing the various methods is also described.
