摘要: An optical glass that substantially does not contain any Ta2O5 and has high-refractivity low-dispersion optical properties and various optical parts made of such optical glass are provided stably at a low cost, and an optical part made thereof is provided, the optical glass having a glass composition comprising, by weight %, 0 to 7% of SiO2, 18 to 30% of B2O3, provided that the total content of SiO2 and B2O3 is 23 to 35%, 2 to 10% of ZnO, 30 to 50% of La2O3, 0 to 20% of Gd2O3, 0 to 20% of Y2O3, provided that the total content of La2O3, Gd2O3 and Y2O3 is 45 to 60%, 3 to 8% of ZrO2 and 3 to 12% of Nb2O5, the total content of these components being at least 95% by weight, the optical glass having a refractive index [nd] and an Abbe's number [&ngr;d] which satisfy specified relational expressions.

摘要: An optical glass having a remarkably high refractive index and excellent stability can be give without being based on PbO, and the optical glass contains, as essential components, at least one oxide selected from La2O3, Gd2O3, Y2O3, Yb2O3, TiO2, Nb2O5 or WO3, at least one oxide selected from MgO, CaO, SrO or BaO and B2O3 and optionally containing SiO2, wherein on the basis of mass, the total content of B2O3 and SiO2 is from 1 to 25%, the ratio of (B2O3+SiO2)/(La2O3+Gd2O3+Y2O3+Yb2O3+TiO2+Nb2O5+WO3) is from 0.05 to 0.3 and the ratio of (MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO)/(La2O3+Gd2O3+Y2O3+Yb2O3+TiO2+Nb2O5+WO3) is from 0.1 to 0.4, the optical glass having a refractive index (nd) of 2.000 or more and an Abbe's number (vd) of 27 or less.

摘要: A manufacturing method of minute metallic spheres of the present invention comprises a heating means for heating and melting a metal to form a metallic sphere, a measurement means for measuring the injected molten metal into a predetermined volume, and a cooling means for cooling the molten metal discharged from the measurement means, to a temperature less than the melting point. The measurement means has a gauger of a predetermined volume in which the molten metal is injected, and is constructed such that the molten metal is cut by rubbing by the predetermined volume by sliding this gauger in contact. The molten metal is injected in the gauger of the predetermined volume to measure, and the measured molten metal is discharged from the gauger to cool to a temperature less than the melting point, and solidified into a sphere in the cooling process.

摘要: The present invention aims to provide a metal mold for glass, which needs not apply any swab in molding of glass, enabling no-swabbing glass forming. The alloy for the mold comprises by weight Cu: 10 to 80%, Al: 4 to 11%, Cr: 3 to 16%, Ni: 2 to 36%, and at least one rare earth element: 0.02 to 2.0% with the balance consisting of Fe and further comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of Ti: Al%.times.0.5 to 2, V: Al%.times.0.2 to 1, Zr: Al%.times.0.1 to 0.3, and Nb: Al%.times.0.1 to 0.3. The alloy is gradually cooled from the solidification initiation temperature to 50.degree. C. at a cooling rate of 10.degree. C./ min. The surface of the mold is coated with an Al-containing coating or roughened to an average roughness of 0.3 to 5 .mu.m. A solid lubricating film is provided in a fitting portion of the mold, or alternatively a self-lubricating solid is embedded in the fitting portion of the mold.

摘要: The present invention aims to provide a metal mold for glass, which needs not apply any swab in molding of glass, enabling no-swabbing glass forming. The alloy for the mold comprises by weight Cu: 10 to 80%, Al: 4 to 11%, Cr: 3 to 16%, Ni: 2 to 36%, and at least one rare earth element: 0.02 to 2.08 with the balance consisting of Fe and further comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of Ti: Al %.times.0.5 to 2, V: Al %.times.0.2 to 1, Zr: Al %.times.0.1 to 0.3, and Nb: Al %.times.0.1 to 0.3. The alloy is gradually cooled from the solidification initiation temperature to 500.degree. C. at a cooling rate of 10.degree. C./min. The surface of the mold is coated with an Al-containing coating or roughened to an average roughness of 0.3 to 5 .mu.m. A solid lubricating film is provided in a fitting portion of the mold, or alternatively a self-lubricating solid is embedded in the fitting portion of the mold.

摘要: Provided is an optical element, which is formed by vacuum-sintering a molded body of ceramic particles having an average particle diameter of 1 μm or more and 10 μm or less and including LnxAlyO[x+y]×1.5 (Ln represents a rare-earth element, x represents 1≦x≦10, and y represents 1≦y≦5). Ln preferably includes at least one kind selected from La, Gd, Yb, and Lu. The optical element preferably has a refractive index of 1.85 or more and 2.06 μm or less, and an Abbe number of 48 or more and 65 or less. The optical element having optical properties of high refractive index and low dispersibility is obtained.
