Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for estimating angular information of a received wireless signal. In some implementations, a receiving device may receive a wireless signal from a transmitting device, and estimate channel conditions, based on a number of sounding sequences, to determine a channel frequency response of the received wireless signal. The receiving device may determine a channel impulse response based an inverse discrete Fourier transfer (DFT) function or a partial inverse DFT function of the channel frequency response, and then select a portion of the channel impulse response. The receiving device may estimate an angle of arrival of the received wireless signal based on the selected portion of the channel impulse response.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for transmitting data are described herein. In some aspects, a method comprises generating a first message. The first message may comprise an allocation of a first station to a first frequency channel and a second station to a second frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting the first message over the first frequency channel and the second frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting, after transmission of the first message, a second message to the first station using the first frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting, after transmission of the first message, a third message to the second station using the second frequency channel.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for constructing or determining a training sequence as a part of transmission preamble to minimize (or at least reduce) a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) at a transmitting node. In one example, a long training field (LTF) sequence of a preamble is determined that combines a set of interpolating sequences with LTF tone values. The LTF tone values may cover at least a portion of bandwidth of a first size, with each of the LTF tone values repeated for different subcarriers. The phases of tones of the LTF sequence may be rotated per bandwidth of the first size and certain tones of the LTF sequence may have a stream of values at pilot locations. For example, the phases of tones of the LTF sequence may be rotated in an effort to reduce PAPR during a transmission of the LTF sequence.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for multiple user uplink are provided. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication includes generating a first wireless message granting permission for a first station to transmit during a transmission opportunity, generating a second wireless message granting permission for a second station to transmit during the transmission opportunity; and transmitting the first wireless message to the first station at least partially concurrently with transmission of the second wireless message to the second station.

Abstract: With multiple communication channels available and range extenders, a number of paths may be available for communicating traffic in a wireless network. Traffic on paths in the wireless network may be load balanced to improve channel utilization and/or relieve an overloaded communication channel. To load balance the traffic, a first AP may determine candidate paths between a first AP and a client device, wherein at least one of the candidate paths traverses a second AP. The AP may determine available bandwidths of the candidate paths based, at least in part, on availability of communication channels of the candidate paths. The AP may steer a portion of the wireless network traffic of the client device to a first of the candidate paths based, at least in part, on the available bandwidths.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for controlling the transmit power of an uplink (UL) signal from a user terminal in a wireless communications system in an effort to achieve some target characteristic, such as a target carrier-to-interference (C/I) ratio, at an access point (AP) are provided. In this manner, such a user terminal may help avoid or compensate for imbalances in received radio frequency (RF) power between UL signals received from multiple user terminals by the AP. For example, the transmit power at each user terminal may be controlled in an effort to achieve a target post-processing C/I ratio of 28 dB per spatial stream in an effort to reduce large power imbalances and optimize throughput per user terminal. The user terminal and the AP may compose part of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system utilizing spatial-division multiple access (SDMA) techniques.
