    Abstract: In order to improve efficiency in releasing a connection with a user equipment, a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are presented herein. A RAN receives release assistance information from a user equipment or a User Plane Function (UPF) involved in an active session with the user equipment. The release assistance information may be received over a control plane or over a user plane. The release assistance information may be received from the user equipment or the UPF over the user plane or as Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling. The release assistance information may be received from an application function via the UPF. The RAN determines to release the user equipment based on the release assistance information.

    Abstract: Beacons may be grouped to facilitate neighbor discovery in a wireless network. For example, neighboring access devices such as IEEE 802.11 access points may cooperate to transmit beacons in a group. In this way, a wireless device seeking to discover the neighboring access devices may scan for the beacons for a shorter period of time. An indication may be provided to enable a wireless device to more efficiently scan the beacons. For example, the indication may indicate the channel the wireless device should scan to receive the next beacon that is to be transmitted. In addition, the indication may include information relating to the transmission time of the next beacon. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for transmitting additional information over a radio access network are described. A method of wireless communication includes aligning a discontinuous reception (DRx) schedule for a user equipment (UE) with a plurality of token arrival times, determining, at a time based on a first token arrival time, whether a radio frequency (RF) band is available for communication, and transmitting control information on the RF band when the RF band is available for communication. The token arrival time may correspond to a waking time for the UE defined by the DRx schedule.
