摘要： A virtual RAM read address generating circuit (41) generates a virtual address on the basis of an output signal of a crystal oscillation circuit (36). A phase comparison circuit (39) which performs phase comparison with a write address, and a spindle control circuit (3) which controls rotation of a disk with reference to outputs of a frequency comparison circuit (38) and the phase comparison circuit (39) are disposed. Therefore, a phase error can be fed back to a spindle motor, thereby preventing linear velocity deviation from occurring in a steady state. By using the thus configured reproducing device, the reproduction quality in the case where a disk wherein recording was performed by the CLV system is reproduced by the variable linear velocity reproduction system is ensured, and both high-speed access and low power consumption are realized.

摘要： A disk-shaped recording medium includes a transparent substrate, and an optical recording layer and a magnetic recording layer formed at one side of the transparent substrate. An optical head applies light to the optical recording layer from a light source via the transparent substrate, and focuses the light on the optical recording layer and reproduces information from the optical recording layer. A magnetic head records information on the magnetic recording layer or reproduces information from the magnetic recording layer. An optical head moving device serves to move the optical head by a movement amount so as to focus the light on an optical track on the optical recording layer which has specified address information. A magnetic head moving device serves to move the magnetic head to a specified magnetic track on the magnetic recording layer by referring to the movement amount of the optical head.

In a memory, temperature relation information representing a relation between an output value of a temperature sensor and a temperature of each of the plural areas is stored. A controller acquires the output value of the temperature sensor and estimates, based on the temperature relation information and the acquired output value, the temperature of each of the plural areas. According to this configuration, the temperature of each of the plural areas defined on the liquid crystal panel can be obtained with a small number of temperature sensors.

摘要： A transfer device for receiving packets that were transmitted by a device in a home network onto a transmission path, and transfers the received packet to another device. The stream to be transferred is classified into three types: (i) a type where each of packets constituting the stream is not attached with a time stamp; (ii) a type where each packet is attached with a valid time stamp; and (iii) a type where each packet is attached with an invalid time stamp. The transfer device determines, from among the three types, the type of the stream to be transferred, based on a transfer source device, transfer destination device, and provider of the stream. The transfer device then selects a transmission method by which to transfer the stream, among the time stamp attachment transmission method and the PCR reference transmission method.
