Abstract:
A hybrid vehicle (1) includes a battery (10-1), a motor-generator (32-2) operable to produce driving force using electric power of the battery (10-1), a charger (28) operable to charge the battery (10-1) by means of an external power supply, and an ECU (40). The ECU (40) stores a given parameter used in battery model expressions. The parameter varies according to the status of the battery (10-1). During running of the hybrid vehicle (1) and during charging of the battery (10-1) with the external power supply, the ECU (40) collects data related to the status of the battery (10-1), corrects the parameter based on the data, and calculates a value of charging rate (SOC) of the battery (10-1). The ECU (40) controls charge/discharge of the battery (10-1), based on the calculated SOC value.
Abstract:
A control device turns on a system relay and relays. A first boost converter rectifies an AC voltage supplied through a connector and a first power supply line. Further, the boost converter responds to a signal from the control device to boost the rectified voltage, and outputs the boosted voltage to a second power supply line. A second boost converter receives a voltage from the second power supply line to convert the voltage in accordance with a signal from the control device for output to a third power supply line. Since the system relay and one relay are both turned on, first and second batteries are connected in parallel to the third power supply line and a ground line. The first and second batteries are thereby charged.

An apparatus for log management includes an obtaining portion that obtains a first log of a process that has been performed, a second log generating portion that creates a second log by replacing confidential information, which is contained in the first log and is to be kept secret, with second information that is different from the confidential information, and a second log output portion that outputs the second log.
Abstract:
In an image reading apparatus having an image reading device which reads a document to output an image data thereof, and an image processor which performs a processing of interest on the image data received from the image reading device, a decision device decides whether the image data should be processed by the image processor or not. When the image data should be processed by the image processor, a transmission device transmits the image data subjected to the processing of interest by the image processor, otherwise it transmits the image data not subjected to the processing of interest by the image processor.
Abstract:
A biological state-evaluating apparatus evaluates the biological state to be evaluated, based on generated evaluation function and the previously acquired metabolite concentration data to be evaluated. In the apparatus, a candidate evaluation function-generating unit generates a candidate evaluation function that is a candidate of the evaluation function from the biological state information according to a particular function-generating method. A candidate evaluation function-verifying unit verifies the candidate evaluation function prepared according to a particular verification method. A variable-selecting unit selects the combination of the metabolite concentration data contained in the biological state information to be used in preparing the candidate evaluation function by selecting a variable of the candidate evaluation function from the verification results according to a particular variable selection method. The apparatus generates the evaluation function by selecting a candidate evaluation function to be used as the evaluation function among the candidate evaluation functions based on the verification results accumulated by repeated execution of those units.

Abstract:
This image processing device for games is a device whereby a prescribed number of models (characters) are setup in virtual space, these models are controlled such that they move in prescribed directions in the virtual space, and images of this virtual space from a virtual viewpoint are displayed on means for display. In order to display the movement of the models that are arranged in virtual space more realistically, in one construction thereof, this device is provided with means for image processing that apply virtual centripetal force to the models. Furthermore, in order to display the movement of the models more realistically and to heighten the dramatic effect, in one construction thereof, this device is equipped with means for processing residual image presentation in order to represent the track of movement of a model as residual images. This means for processing is equipped with means for storage that store without modification motion data of the model prior to the current motion and with means for display control that display this stored data together with the current motion data.
