Abstract:
Compounds of formula I in which R1, R2, R3 and A have the meaning set forth in the specification, are selective cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors useful as therapeutics in human and veterinary medicine. They are distinguished by low toxicity, good enteral absorption (high bioavailability), a wide therapeutic breadth and absence of significant side effects.
Abstract:
A CMP semiconductor wafer planarization method is provided employing an aqueous solution of a trialkanol amine as a wafer cleaning solution. Wafers are produced exhibiting a substantial reduction in semiconductor device failures as shown by a significant decrease in m.sub.1- m.sub.1 (metal to metal) shorts.
Abstract:
An apparatus for selective particle flotation includes a static mixer connected to a flotation section in lieu thereof of the apparatus. The static mixer is disposed upstream of the flotation section in lieu thereof with respect to a direction of fluid flow through the apparatus. The static mixer mixes sludge with small gas bubbles. A flotation cyclone is disposed in an upstream portion of the flotation section in lieu thereof with respect to the direction of fluid flow through the apparatus. The flotation cyclone is the initial separation device through which the sludge flows.
Abstract:
A control system for engaging and releasing a torque converter bypass clutch and for varying the torque capacity of the clutch by adjusting the torque converter torus chamber pressure in accordance with changing operating variables, the bypass clutch including a clutch release pressure chamber that is maintained at a calibrated pressure threshold valve whereby pressure clutch capacity control is achieved by controlling pressure differential in the converter.
Abstract:
A container for collecting and storing newspapers and periodicals comprises a lower base, a cross-shaped support that rests on the lower base, and an intermediate base that rests on the cross-shaped support. Between the lower base, the cross-shaped support and the intermediate base, two receiving compartments for receiving balls of twine are defined. The container as a whole is made as a folding cardboard box and is distinguished by great stability as well as simple handling.
Abstract:
A method is provided for using a collar to either drive a post into the ground or remove a post from the ground. The method includes, when driving a post into the ground, coupling the collar to the post in a first orientation so that a post opening of a first portion of the collar extends about the post, and applying a driving force to a second portion of the collar. The method also includes, when removing a post from the ground, coupling the collar to the post in a second orientation, rotated approximately 180 degrees from the first orientation, so that the post opening of the first portion of the collar extends about the post, and applying an extracting force to the second portion of the collar.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the provision of two novel crystalline forms I and II for 5-amino-2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-dione sodium salt. Surprisingly, it was discovered that form I and form II have differing immunological effects. This advantageous property is useful for immunospecific applications. In addition, both forms have advantageous physicochemical properties, which are useful in the production, further processing and/or use of a pharmaceutical preparation of form I or form II or a mixture of both.
Abstract:
Compounds of a certain formula 1 in which R1 and R2 have the meanings indicated in the description are novel kinase inhibitors. Formula (1), in which R1 is phenyl, phenyl substituted by R3 and/or R4, naphthalenyl, naphthalenyl substituted by and/or R6, aryl1, aryl1 substituted by R7 and/or R8, R9, R10 or R11, R2 is phenyl, phenyl substituted by R12 and/or R13, naphthalenyl, naphthalenyl substituted by R14 and/or R15, aryl2, aryl2 substituted by R16 and/or R17 or a radical selected from Formula (2).
Abstract:
Described is a check valve with a housing having an inlet side and an outlet side, a flow blocking valve element with centering protrusions, an inlet annular shoulder, an outlet annular shoulder, cylindrical valve element cavity with an aspect ratio such that the flow blocking valve element cannot be put in a position where it is jammed. The centering protrusions on the flow blocking valve element support it on the outlet annular shoulder and allow flow to pass between the central disc of the valve element and the larger diameter of the outlet orifice. When flow is attempted in the inhibited direction, the flow blocking valve element is pressed against the inlet annular shoulder, forming a seal and blocking the flow. The valve has the advantage of being inexpensive to manufacture and highly reliable.
Abstract:
Habitat for caged animals is manufactured from extruded milo grain. Preferably, the grain is defatted and decorticated. By selectively altering the moisture content of the grain as well as selectively altering the particular extrusion process, habitat may be formed in various shapes, sizes, and densities. The disclosure provides a method of introducing an extruded milo grain to the environment of the animal, and observing the behavior of the animal to provide the type of product that best suits the animal's particular behavior.
