摘要: A wireless communication (120) device for placing calls within a wireless communication system (100) on a plurality of channels is provided. The wireless communication unit (120) includes a transceiver (204) for transmitting and receiving radio frequency (RF) signals on the plurality of channels, a signal detector (220), a network scanner (222) and a controller (206). The signal detector (220) detects whether a call on one of the plurality of channels has been dropped (304). The network scanner (222) controls which of the plurality of channels the transceiver receives signals on and which of the plurality of channels the transceiver transmits signals on. The controller (206) automatically increases a scan rate (308) of the network scanner (222) in response to the signal detector (220) determining that the call has been dropped (304).

摘要: A system and method which provide a non-biological self replicating manufacturing system (“SRMS”) are disclosed. A preferred embodiment provides an SRMS that enables assembly stations to replicate. In a preferred embodiment, positional assembly is utilized by one or more assembly stations to construct like assembly stations. Furthermore, in a most preferred embodiment, such assembly stations are small scale devices that are capable of working with small scale parts, such as micron-scale, nanometer-scale or even molecular-scale parts, in order to construct like assembly devices. The SRMS of a preferred embodiment performs surface-to-surface assembly. For example, an assembly station on a first surface (e.g., wafer), Surface A, constructs a like assembly station on another surface (e.g., wafer), Surface B. Most preferably, the assembly stations replicate at an exponential rate.

摘要: A rotary valve actuator for actuating a valve pivotally disposed in a housing and movable between first and second positions. The actuator includes an actuator member coupled to the valve, a resilient arm coupled to one of the housing or the actuator member, and a wall member protruding from the one of the housing or the actuator member to which the resilient arm is not coupled. An arm tab protruding from the resilient arm is aligned with and preferably protrudes through an opening of the wall member when the valve is in the first position, and an arm engagement member of the resilient arm is engaged with a wall engagement portion of the wall member when the valve is in the first position. The resilient arm is flexible away from the wall member to disengage the arm engagement member from the wall engagement portion. The actuator is operable remotely by one or more flexible straps coupled to the actuator member.

摘要: In one embodiment, the present invention is directed to a data structure for representing a spatial region. The data structure comprises a hierarchical arrangement of nodes associated with a plurality of refinement levels, wherein each node of the hierarchical arrangement of nodes is a regular spatial subdivision of the spatial region or another node that is associated with a preceding refinement level. The hierarchical arrangement of nodes forms a directed acyclic graph. The hierarchical arrangement of nodes comprises at least two nodes that have respective edges that are traversed to a common child node such that the hierarchical arrangement of nodes does not comprise a repeated pattern from any two nodes of a common refinement level of the data structure.

摘要: An optical-electronic device measuring a charge level in a battery having a housing positioned within an interior of the battery, the housing having a cavity. A light source and a light receiving device are positioned within the cavity. A sensing surface and at least one reflecting surface are positioned within the cavity between the light source and the light receiving device. A box is formed with respect to the housing, the at least one reflecting surface dividing the box from the cavity. Light projected from the light source is transmitted from the sensing surface, where a portion of the light is refracted depending upon the charge level of the battery. The remaining light is transmitted to the at least one reflecting surface and then to the light receiving device. A level of charge is thereby determined based upon the amount of light sensed by the light receiving device.

摘要: An automotive vehicle headrest system comprises a pair of laterally spaced upstanding support shafts or bolt members for threaded engagement within internally threaded or tapped holes, sockets, or sleeves defined within an automotive vehicle seat frame. The headrest component includes bracket members, having disk members incorporated therein, which are mounted upon the shafts or bolts such that the bracket/disk assemblies are normally mis-aligned with respect to each other, and the disk members define two-point contact systems with the shaft or bolts so as to support the headrest at a predetermined elevational position. Vertical positional adjustment of the headrest is achieved by causing the bracket members to be aligned with each other thereby releasing the two-point contact system defined with the shafts or bolts whereupon movement of the headrest to a new elevational position, the two-point contact system is re-established so as to again permit support of the headrest upon the support shafts or bolt members.

摘要: An automotive fuel filler pipe ball valve assembly mountable in an opening of an automotive body panel. The assembly includes a housing member having a ball valve receptacle communicating with a housing inlet opening and a housing outlet opening, and a ball valve member having a passage with an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The ball valve member includes a stem member extending through an opening in the housing member, wherein the stem member is engageable by an actuation member to pivot the ball valve member in the housing member, thereby opening and closing the ball valve assembly. One or more sealing members form leak-proof seals between the housing member and the ball valve member. The assembly is mountable onto the body panel by resilient engagement members breakable to separate the housing member from the automotive body panel during impact.

摘要: A stabilization member usable for coupling first and second pivotal suspension components in a vehicle suspension stabilization system. The stabilization member includes first and second tension members each having a substantially U-shaped closed first end portion linked together to form a cavity for retaining a resilient dampening member, and a second end portion coupleable to one of the first and second pivotal suspension components, whereby tension on the first and second tension members is at least partially absorbable by compression of the resilient dampening member. In one embodiment, the substantially U-shaped closed first end portions of the first and second tension members is a strap material, which are oriented substantially perpendicular to form the link, and the resilient dampening member is a thermoset urethane material, which may be pre-compressed to permit adjustably tuning the suspension stabilization system. The stabilization members provide improved suspension performance, decreased weight and cost, among other advantages.
