摘要: An internal combustion engine wherein the top wall surface of the intake air inflow passage part of the intake port is formed by a first top wall surface and a second top wall surface lower than the first top wall surface and wherein a lower layer flow passage and an upper layer flow passage are formed at the height position of the second top wall surface as a boundary. When the intake valve opens, a lower layer flow flowing through the inside of the lower layer flow passage passes through the intake valve opening region, flows to the circumferential direction of the combustion chamber, and generates a swirl, while an upper layer flow flowing through the inside of the upper layer flow passage passes through the helical part and flows into the combustion chamber.

摘要: A pump off control method comprises detecting the speed of the induction motor and an instantaneous value of secondary current of the induction motor. Down stroke time in every cycle of the pump jack is detected. An average value of instantaneous values of the secondary current of the induction motor in the down stroke time in said every cycle is calculated. An average value reference of the secondary current of the induction motor to be compared with calculated average value of the instantaneous values of the secondary current of the induction motor is set. The calculated average value of the instantaneous values of the secondary current is compared with the average value reference after the down stroke end in each cycle. An occurence of pump off is detected if the calculated average value of the instantaneous values is greater than the average value reference.

摘要: A fuel cell power generating apparatus (1) using a fuel cell stack (2) includes an air intake manifold (45) mounted above the stack for supplying air to a plurality of longitudinally extending air flow passages of fuel cells in stack; one or more of nozzles (55) mounted to side walls of THE air intake manifold for injecting water into the air intake manifold; and water supply system (50) for supplying water to the nozzles. In a preferable embodiment, the nozzles are mounted respectively to a pair of opposite side walls of the air intake manifold at location offset to each other or at different angle of water injection, to facilitate complete dispersion or distribution of water over the entirety of the air intake manifold, which allows smooth entry of the sprayed water to the respective air flow passages of the fuel cells.

摘要: A separator unit is inserted between adjacent stacked fuel cells, in each of which an electrolyte layer is sandwiched between a fuel electrode and an oxygen electrode. The separator unit includes a sheet-shaped gas barrier member, which blocks a gas, and a collector, which is inserted between the gas barrier member and the fuel electrode or the oxygen electrode and which is provided with a plurality of openings that diffuse the gas. The collector is provided with an electrode contact portion, which is made up of a flat, porous panel that is in contact with the fuel electrode or the oxygen electrode and collects power, and a gas barrier member contact portion, which is made up of a linear piece that forms a gas flow route by being in contact with the gas barrier member and supports the electrode contact portion. A height dimension of the gas barrier member contact portion is smaller than an equivalent diameter of an opening in the electrode contact portion.

摘要: A separator unit inserted into a fuel cell having an electrolyte layer interposed between a fuel electrode and an oxygen electrode is provided with a plate like separator that separates fuel gas supplied to the fuel electrode from oxidizing gas supplied to the oxygen electrode, and a mesh like collector having an opening that forms one of a passage through which the fuel gas flows and a passage through which the oxidizing gas flows. The collector is provided to at least one side of the separator base in abutment against one of the fuel electrode and the oxygen electrode. The separator base has a coolant passage formed therein, through which a coolant is allowed to flow, and an electrode abutment portion of the collector, which abuts against one of the fuel electrode and the oxygen electrode, has an aperture ratio higher than those of other portions of the collector.

摘要: A fuel cell power generation system suitable for powering an electric vehicle and which provides high degree of safety when restarting power generation. The system is small in size, light in weight and low in cost of power generation. Three-way valves are provided in an exhaust-passage extending from a fuel-reforming unit and in pipes connecting the fuel-reforming unit, a CO removal unit and a fuel cell and as a gas exhaust valve on an anode side exhaust passage extending from the fuel cell. Accordingly, upon shut down, after exhausting residual reformed gas, combustion exhaust gas from a combustion unit associated with the fuel reforming unit is passed through the respective units for purging the residual reformed gas.
