摘要: A modular acetabular cup assembly includes an acetabular cup, and a liner seated in the cup. The cup includes an end face, an apex opposite the end face, and a central axis extending between the apex and a center point of the end face. The liner includes an articular surface having a center of rotation which defines a pivot point of the acetabular cup assembly. In certain embodiments, the pivot point is laterally offset from the center point such that the end face is located between the pivot point and the apex.

摘要: An intervertebral disc includes a superior endplate having an upper vertebral contacting surface and a lower bearing surface, wherein the upper vertebral contacting surface of the superior endplate has a central portion that is raised relative to a peripheral portion of the superior endplate, and wherein the lower bearing surface has a concavity disposed opposite the raised central portion. The disc includes an inferior endplate having a lower vertebral contacting surface and an upper surface, wherein the lower vertebral contacting surface of the inferior endplate has a central portion and wherein the upper bearing surface has a concavity disposed opposite the central portion. A core is positioned between the upper and inferior endplates, the core having upper and lower core bearing surfaces configured to mate with the bearing surfaces of the upper and inferior endplates. The upper vertebral contacting surface of the superior end plate has a different shape than the lower vertebral contacting surface of the inferior end plate.

摘要: An intervertebral cage and intervertebral cage apparatus and a method for using the intervertebral cage and/or the intervertebral cage apparatus. The intervertebral cage can be any desired material including a memory material. The intervertebral cage apparatus can include the intervertebral cage and one or both of a variable volume pouch and a deployment cable. The variable volume pouch can be inserted into an internal volume of the intervertebral cage and affixed to the intervertebral cage. The variable volume pouch can be filled with material to achieve an expanded state. The variable volume pouch can assist in the deployment of the intervertebral cage. The deployment cable can be attached to the intervertebral cage and can include features to facilitate that attachment. The deployment cable can apply a force to the intervertebral cage to deploy the intervertebral cage, and can include features to lock the intervertebral cage in the deployed configuration. An implantation tool can be used to apply force to the intervertebral cage to deploy the intervertebral cage.

The tibia rod is hingedly couplable to the femur rod to form a hinged rod assembly. A pre-formed femoral spacer component includes bone cement impregnated with an antibiotic. The pre-formed femoral spacer defines an opening that receives the hinged rod assembly. A pre-formed tibial spacer component includes bone cement impregnated with an antibiotic. The pre-formed tibial spacer defines an opening that receives the hinged rod assembly.

It is believed that when the nub fits snugly between the endplates of the adjacent vertebral bodies, it acts as a stop against the undesired pivotal movement of the plate.
