摘要: A vehicular lamp includes a lamp source, a lamp body accommodating the lamp source, and a lens attached to the lamp body. The lamp body has an abutment surface on the top portion of a peripheral wall, which is configured to rise in a direction of an optical axis of the light source along a peripheral edge of the lamp body. The abutment surface of the lamp body is configured to incline to the optical axis. Similary, the lens has an abutment surface corresponding to the abutment surface of the lamp body along a peripheral portion of the lens. In this case, the abutment surface of the lens is configured within the dimention of an outer surface of the lens so as not to protrude over the outer surface. The abutment surfaces of the lamp body and the lens are integrally jointed together by laser walding.

摘要: Conventional adhesive and contact welding methods for holding the paperboard and plastic components of a composite closure together present a number disadvantages and do not lend themselves easily to mass production. The present invention describes two novel approaches, firstly the preassembly heating of the closure components with directed hot air to partially melt the thermoplastic surfaces and allow the parts to be immediately assembled sealingly and, secondly, a novel construction of plastic and paperboard composite closure in which the plastic rim is of a two-piece snap-fit constructions which firmly grips the top panel of the paperboard lid.

摘要: A vehicular headlamp includes a lamp body having an opening, a first reflector disposed within the lamp body, a lens, and a second reflector. The second reflector serves as an extension reflector to cover a gap between the opening of the lamp body and the first reflector. The lens and the second reflector are joined together at an edge portion thereof by laser welding. The second reflector has a leg portion on a back surface thereof. An edge portion of the opening has a groove to receive the leg portion, and seal material having a predetermined adhesibility, which can be pulled off, is injected into the groove. The second reflector joined to the lens is mounted on an edge of the opening of the lamp body via the seal material.

摘要: The invention is directed to assembly of a plurality of joined panel parts. Some of the individual parts contain a pre-applied curable adhesive to one or more sides or edges. An initiating metal activator is applied to complementing edges and cure is activated when the parts are assembled. The pre-applied adhesive system contains monomer(s), initiators, oligomers, an acid, and a sulfonyl compound. An activating or initiating metal foil, dispersion or coating is applied to the complementary surface. The bonding is effected when the adhesive system is activated by mating the edges. The activating metal is a reducible elemental transition metal. The metal is affixed to one surface which is brought into proximity with the curable adhesive compound dispensed onto the complementing part. The invention has usefulness in the joining of wood, wood products, composites of wood, thermoset polymer panels, non-initiating metal panels, and thermoplastic/wood composites, and the like to provide self-bonding assemblies having appearance surfaces, such as wall or floor coverings, especially assemblies that used joined board-like construction members.

摘要: A lamp for a vehicle is described that incorporates a lamp body to which a front lens is joined by a sealing member. The sealing member is made of a low-adhesive hot melt in the gel state which causes surface exfoliation when the front lens is separated from the lamp body. This makes it possible to easily attach or detach the front lens and prevent the front lens, the lamp body, and the sealing member from being damaged during a separating operation. Since the elastic repulsion force of the sealing member is small, threaded fasteners are not required for fastening the front lens to the lamp body. Instead, only hook fasteners need be used. Therefore, the structure of the lamp is simplified and the workability in the process for assembling the lamp is improved.

摘要: A vehicular lamp in which bonding failure between a front lens and a lamp body is prevented while enhancing the bonding strength and improving the quality of the outer appearance around the bonded surface therebetween. An end surface of a seal leg of a front lens and a receiving surface of a lamp body are bonded through laser beam welding so as to improve the outer appearance quality of the area around the bonded surfaces. The end surface is formed on an end portion of the seal leg that is bent and extended outward at a predetermined angle with respect to the bonding direction. The laser beam is irradiated onto the receiving surface through the end portion from a direction substantially orthogonal to the end surface. The resultant permeation distance of the laser beam is made short, resulting in a sufficient amount of irradiation energy. When pressure is applied to the base end portion of the seal leg by pressing on the front lens, the end surface and the receiving surface are brought into abutment in the width direction with uniform pressure.
