    摘要: A system and method for controlling the operation of a gas turbine engine supplying power to an aircraft. The engine is controlled according to a reading of an amount of power drawn from the supplied power. The reading is fed directly to a control system, which issues commands for controlling engine parameters comprising an acceleration reference signal, load shedding, variable geometry positioning, and fuel flow. The control system may further issue commands for controlling the amount of power drawn. The control system may further use the reading to monitor the engine's condition.

    摘要: The invention concerns a method of operating a gas turbine with staged and/or sequential combustion. The burners of a second stage or a second combustor are singularly and sequentially switched on during loading and switched off during de-loading. The total fuel mass flow and the compressor inlet guide vanes are adjusted at the same time to allow controlling gas turbine operation temperatures and engine power with respect to the required CO emission target.

    摘要: A gas turbine engine has a fan at an axially outer location. The fan rotates about an axis of rotation. The fan delivers air into an outer bypass duct, and across a booster fan positioned radially inwardly of the outer bypass duct. The booster fan delivers air into a radially middle duct, and across a cold turbine into a radially inner core duct being directed into a compressor. From the compressor, air flows axially in a direction back toward the fan through a combustor section, and across an exhaust of the turbine section as directed into the middle duct. A gear reduction drives the fan from a fan drive turbine section. A method is also disclosed.

The power plant may include multiple possible operating modes differentiated by characteristics of operating parameters. The method may include tuning a power plant model so to configure a tuned power plant model. The method may further include simulating proposed operating modes of the power plant with the tuned power plant model. The simulating may include a simulation procedure that includes: defining a second operating period; selecting the proposed operating modes from the possible operating modes; with the tuned power plant model, performing a simulation run for each of the proposed operating modes whereby the operation of the power plant during the second operating period is simulated; and obtaining simulation results from each of the simulation runs.
