The signal characteristics along with the location information associated with the characteristics are stored in a centralized reference database. A mobile device characterizes signals it receives at a certain location and compares the characteristics with the signal characteristics stored in the reference database to obtain accurate location information of the certain location.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for positioning a vehicle. An apparatus for determining positioning information for a vehicle may comprise a plurality of receive coil circuits and a hardware processor. The plurality of receive coil circuits is configured to generate voltage signals from a magnetic field. The hardware processor is configured to generate position estimates of a position of the magnetic field generator with respect to a position of the plurality of receive coils. Each of the first sequence of position estimates is determined based upon a corresponding voltage vector derived from the voltage signals and at least one of a plurality of reference vectors. The hardware processor is configured to update the plurality of reference vectors based upon the first sequence of position estimates and a second sequence of position estimates generated based upon a source different from the plurality of receive coil circuits.

摘要: Systems and methods for determining user equipment (UE) locations within a wireless network using reference signals of the wireless network are described. The disclosed systems and methods utilize a plurality of in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) samples generated from signals provided by receive channels associated with two or more antennas of the wireless system. Based on received reference signal parameters the reference signal within the signals from each receive channel among the receive channels is identified. Based on the identified reference signal from each receive channel, an angle of arrival between a baseline of the two or more antennas and incident energy from the UE to the two or more antennas is determined. That angle of arrival is then used to calculate the location of the UE. The angle of arrival may be a horizontal angle of arrival and/or a vertical angle of arrival.

摘要: A positioning system operates by first determining that a user is pedestrian, and then estimating a speed of the user. Having tracked a first signal from one radio transmitter whose position is known, the system attempts to detect additional signals from the one transmitter, in a search space such that the first signal and the or each additional signal are consistent with the estimated speed of the user and with one or more of the signals having been reflected off a reflector in the vicinity of the user. One or more detected additional signals from the one transmitter are then tracked, and candidate measurements, derived from the first signal and the one or more detected additional signals, are provided for use when estimating the position and/or velocity of the user.

摘要: Methods and apparatus relating to use of actual and/or virtual beacons are described. Virtual beacons are virtual in that an actual beacon need not be transmitted but a rather a virtual beacon transmitter at a desired location maybe considered to transmit virtual beacons. In some embodiments a set of beacon transmitter information for one or more beacons is supplied to devices in a communications system. The beacon transmitter information indicates transmission power and location of actual and virtual beacon transmitters as well as information to be communicated by virtual beacons. Devices with access to beacon information can determine based on the location of a wireless terminal whether the wireless terminal is within coverage area of a virtual beacon and report reception of the virtual beacon to the wireless terminal or a component of the wireless terminal which acts upon receiving an indication of beacon reception.

摘要: A method for reporting a measurement result for determining a position in a wireless communication system, according to one embodiment of the present invention, is performed by a terminal and may comprise the steps of: receiving positioning reference signal (PRS)-related information comprising a position identifier of each of a plurality of base stations; performing a measurement on the PRSs transmitted by each of the plurality of base stations; if the position identifier of each of the plurality of base stations are identical to each other, selecting at least one measurement result among the measurement results for the PRSs; and reporting the selected measurement result to a serving base station.
