A modular garage door opener system and method including a garage door opener having a motor that is configured to be coupled to a garage door to open and close the garage door. The garage door opener includes a first accessory port including a first accessory mounting interface and a second accessory port disposed on the garage door opener including a second accessory mounting interface. An accessory device including a first mounting interface engages the first accessory mounting interface to couple the accessory device to the first accessory port. The accessory device may be disengaged from the first accessory mounting interface and then engage the second accessory mounting interface to couple the accessory device to the second accessory port. Additionally, a second accessory device may engage the first accessory port after disengagement of the accessory device.

An accessory device system includes a charger, a battery pack selectively coupled to a battery receiving portion of the charger to receive charging current, and a first accessory device selectively coupled to an accessory device port of the charger. The charger further includes an electronic controller having a wireless transceiver and configured to communicate with a peripheral device to one or more of provide identity and status information regarding the first accessory device and to receive settings data to control the first accessory device. The charger receives the identity and status information from the first accessory device, and provides the settings data to the first accessory device to control the first accessory device. In some instances, the peripheral device and the charger communicate via a network and server, and the charger communicates wirelessly with the network via the wireless transceiver.

The power transmission mechanism may include a first bevel gear rotatable by the drive shaft and a second bevel gear positioned for engagement with the first bevel gear. The second bevel gear may include an axis of rotation oriented at least substantially perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the first bevel gear. A disengagement mechanism may be coupled to at least one of the first bevel gear or the second bevel gear and configured to selectively engage and disengage the first bevel gear and the second bevel gear.

A damping device with damper is arranged on a first part of a piece of furniture or furniture fitting, operable by a second part of a piece of furniture or furniture fitting thus damping a relative movement of both parts. The damping effect of the damper may be deactivated by a switchable coupling switched by a preferably manually operated switch body.

A sectional door hinge system is provided which is engageable between upper and lower portions of a sectional door configured for rolling in a track abutting a door jamb. Each hinge is actuatable to move from an engaged position preventing separation of the hinge to a configuration allowing separation between two sections forming the hinge. Separation of the hinge sections allows movement of the upper portion of the sectional door, independently of the lower section. The door hinge system may be retrofit to existing sectional garage doors and provided with newly manufacture garage doors.

A method of motorized movement of a vehicle door, wherein the vehicle door can be moved from an open position to a closed position as part of a closing process with a door drive mechanism associated with the vehicle door and a control system. In a first section of the closing process the vehicle door is moved by the door drive mechanism from the open position to a comfortable open position that lies between the open position and the closed position. In a second section of the closing process, the vehicle door is further moved from the comfortable open position in the closing direction, preferably to the closed position, manually by the user and largely free of the door drive mechanism.

The operations include receiving, from a work-source sensor, work-source input indicating a distance moved by the work source and a direction of the movement, and determining, based on the work-source input and a first and second status histories, corresponding to a first and a second part, respectively, first and second distances travelled by the parts, respectively. A covering of a building opening includes a rail, a first sash having a guiding slot, a second sash hinged with the first sash and having a center of rotation at an end thereof, a pulley assembly, and a restricting assembly. The pulley assembly is movably received in the rail and has a rod. The rod has a protrusion section extending out of the rail, and the protrusion section enters and leaves the guiding slot while the pulley assembly is moving. The restricting assembly has a moving member and a locking base. The moving member is provided on one of the first sash and the second sash, and the locking base is provided on the other. The moving member is moved by the rod and engages the locking base when the rod leaves the guiding slot.

A system for use with a emergency exit door, comprising: a door opener including a stationary actuator with a movable distal arm for pushing the door open; a door strike mountable to a door frame having an opening to receive a latch of the emergency exit door, the electric door strike including a gate having a locked condition and a release condition; a controller connected to the door opener and the door strike; a remote activator having a triggered condition, which provides a signal to the controller when the remote activator is triggered, to unlock the gate and then the door opener, to open the emergency exit door.
