Abstract: A method of reducing the level of a transcription product in a cell comprising contacting with the cell a composition comprising a double-stranded nucleic acid complex comprising a first nucleic acid strand annealed to a second nucleic acid strand, wherein: (i) the first nucleic acid strand hybridizes to the transcription product and comprises (a) a region consisting of at least 4 consecutive nucleotides that are recognized by RNase H when the strand is hybridized to the transcription product, (b) one or more nucleotide analogs located on 5′ terminal side of the region, (c) one or more nucleotide analogs located on 3′ terminal side of the region and (d) a total number of nucleotides and nucleotide analogs ranging from 8 to 35 nucleotides and (ii) the second nucleic acid strand comprises (a) nucleotides and optionally nucleotide analogs and (b) at least 4 consecutive RNA nucleotides.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a macromolecular material that exhibits excellent elongation. The first macromolecular material of the present invention contains the first polymer containing the first structural unit and the second polymer containing the second structural unit. The first structural unit has a guest group in its side chain, and the second structural unit has a host group in its side chain. At least one of the first and the second polymers contains at least one fluorine group. The second macromolecular material of the present invention contains the first structural unit having a guest group in its side chain, the second structural unit having a host group in its side chain, and the third structural unit other than the first and second structural units. At least one of the first, the second, and the third structural units contains at least one fluorine group.

This magnetic stimulator includes: a magnetic field generating means including at least a stimulation coil configured to generate a dynamic magnetic field so as to apply the magnetic stimulation; a coil holder operated to displace a relative position of the magnetic field generating means with respect to the particular portion of the subject; a plurality of magnetic field sensors each configured to detect the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generating means; and a user interface section configured to provide instruction information based on a result of the detection of the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generating means, the instruction information indicating an operation of displacement to be performed using the coil holder, the detection being made by the magnetic field sensors either before or during the magnetic stimulation.

Also provided is a production method for the sheet. This sustained drug release sheet for treating nerve injury is a sheet comprising a non-woven fabric that is formed from nanofibers each containing a drug such as vitamin B12 and a biocompatible polymer such as a biodegradable aliphatic polyester, and is implanted in the periphery of the nerve injury site to promote nerve regeneration.

Abstract: [PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED] To provide a radiation phase contrast imaging device having a small device configuration[SOLVING MEANS] The present invention focused on the findings that the distance between the phase grating 5 and the FPD 4 does not need to be the Talbot distance. The distance between the phase grating 5 and the FPD 4 can be more freely set. However, a self-image cannot be detected unless the self-image is sufficiently magnified with respect to the phase grating 5. The degree on how much the self-image is magnified on the FPD 4 with respect to the original phase grating 5 is determined by a magnification ratio X2/X1. Therefore, in the present invention, the magnification ratio is set to be the same as the magnification ratio in a conventional configuration. With this, even if the distance X2 between the radiation source 3 and the FPD 4 is reduced, a situation in which the self-image cannot be detected by the FPD 4 due to the excessively small size thereof does not occur.

A dental therapy apparatus (10A) comprises a laser light source (11) emitting laser light (L) having a wavelength within a wavelength region of 5.7 to 6.6 μm; a controller (12) pulse-driving the laser light source and controlling at least one of pulse width and repetition frequency of pulsed laser light emitted from the laser light source; and an irradiation optical system for irradiating a tooth (20) including a carious part (21) with the light emitted from the laser light source. In this dental therapy apparatus, the controller controls at least one of the pulse width and repetition frequency of the pulsed light, so as to selectively cut the carious part (21).
