Abstract:
Disclosed are advances in the arts with novel and useful current mode regulators. Circuits, systems, and methods for current mode regulation include a primary side for receiving an input signal and a secondary for outputting an output signal. A regulator spans the primary and secondary sides in a configuration by which the input signal may be rectified and thereafter provided to the output node as an output signal. A current monitor is provided at the output node for comparing the output signal to a reference. A communication link is included for providing feedback to the primary side of the regulator for use in regulating the signal.
Abstract:
Disclosed are advances in the arts with novel and useful electronic circuitry with pop and click noise reduction. A load circuit is connected with a full or single-ended half-H bridge circuit and another circuit mechanism in a configuration by which a signal may be used to selectably bring the load circuit terminals to a selected voltage level when an externally applied signal is not present.
Abstract:
Disclosed are advances in the arts with novel line interface apparatus for monitoring and controlling connections in an electrical system. Exemplary preferred embodiments include smart load ASICs and power control ASICs for monitoring signals at one or more device loads and controlling the monitored signals at the device loads and/or at the main transmission lines. The invention preferably provides the capability to test and monitor electrical interconnections without fully activating the host system.
Abstract:
A network interface includes a receptacle configured to receive a plug, a first contact and a second contact each disposed in the receptacle, and a combination of a resistive element and a normally closed switch arranged in series with each other. The combination is coupled between the first contact and the second contact, and has a first configuration in which the switch is opened responsive to a presence of the plug within the receptacle, and a second configuration in which the switch is closed responsive to an absence of the plug from the receptacle.
Abstract:
Disclosed are advances in the arts with novel methods and apparatus for detecting faulty connections in an electrical system. Exemplary preferred embodiments include monitoring techniques and systems for monitoring signals at one or more device loads and analyzing the monitored signals for determining fault conditions at the device loads and/or at the main transmission lines. The invention preferably provides the capability to test and monitor electrical interconnections without fully activating the host system.
Abstract:
Coupled coil systems and methods are disclosed in which transmitter and receiver inductors, or coils, are coupled in a configuration for wirelessly transferring power among them. In preferred implementations, power may be transmitted and received using temporarily paired coupled coils. One preferred aspect of the invention is that the coils are not permanently affixed in physical proximity to one another, but can be moved and/or interchanged, and that the coils may be used to transmit or receive power based on their real-time relationships to other coils.
Abstract:
Multiple database queries are satisfied with the same data in a manner that assures the data is current and without having to interrogate the database for each query. In a first embodiment, all queries that are received during the processing of a first query after interrogation of the database has begun for the first query are evaluated to determine whether the result set returned for the first query will satisfy the queries received during processing of the first query. If so, the result set returned for the first query is used to generate result sets for the subsequent compatible queries received during the processing of the first query. In a second embodiment, queries are delayed and grouped, and a new query is then processed for each group that returns a result set that satisfies all of the queries in the group. In both cases, the result set for one query is used to generate a result set for a different query.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for idling a clock synchronizing circuit during at least a portion of time during execution of a refresh operation in a memory device. In a memory device receiving an external clock signal, a method and apparatus for executing a refresh operation is provided that includes initiating at least one refresh operation in the memory device, and ceasing generation of an internal clock signal timed with respect to the external clock signal for at least a portion of the time in which at least one refresh operation takes to complete.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for producing an MDF board from pulp from a fibrous lignocellulose material using a treatment or pretreatment step which exposes the material to oxalic acid or oxalic acid derivatives (particularly dialkyl ester derivatives, particularly in the vapor phase). The treated wood is then subjected to a sugar extraction wash and refined using any one of the several pulping methods to produce a final pulp product. Once this is done the pulp is used to make MDF boards having improved water repellency properties.
Abstract:
A data volume rebuilder reduces the time required to reconstruct lost data in a RAID protected data volume operating with a failed physical disk drive. A data volume rebuilder uses the remaining functioning physical disk drives in the RAID protected data volume operating with the failed disk to regenerate the lost data and populate a virtual hot spare store allocated in a separate RAID protected data volume. The recovered data is distributed across the physical disk drives supporting the virtual hot spare store. Once the virtual hot spare store is populated, the data volume can recover from a subsequent failure of a second physical disk drive in either RAID group. After replacement of the failed physical disk drive, the data volume rebuilder moves the recovered data from the virtual hot spare store to the new physical disk drive.
