Abstract: A filtration media with improved filtration, strength, tear resistance and air permeability in the form of a relatively thin and lightweight wet-laid fibrous web that has a wet Mullen ratio of 60% to 80% to ensure that the media is flexible enough to be formed into a fluted structure, and strong enough to retain the fluted structure when wound into a roll and to permit further processing without the media becoming too brittle. The filtration media comprises a blend of cellulose and synthetic fibers having a weight percent of 81 wt % to 87 wt % of a weight of the media and a resin binder having a weight of 13 wt % to 19 wt % (preferably about 16 wt %) of the weight of the media.

Abstract: Air filter systems, filter bag assemblies, filter bags and corresponding methods are described herein. The filter bag assemblies include a flange assembly, a cage attached to the flange assembly, and a filter bag installed over the cage with an opening at the flange assembly. When installed in the dirty air chamber of the air filter system, a seal between the flange assembly and the tubesheet defining the dirty air chamber is provided by applying a seal force on the end of the filter bag assembly located proximate the access panel on the side of the dirty air chamber opposite the tubesheet. That seal force is transmitted to the flange assembly through the cage. The tubular filter bags may be in the form of triangular bags and/or may include bag support connectors at the closed end of the bag.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to monitoring systems for chemical filters used with fuel cell systems. In an embodiment, a fuel cell chemical filter monitoring system is included having a processing unit and a sensor package. The sensor package can include one or more sensors. The sensor package can be configured to interface with an air flow channel of a fuel cell system upstream of a chemical filter and detect an amount of a chemical compound in the air flow channel. The sensor package can be operatively connected to the processing unit. The processing unit can be configured to track total exposure of the chemical filter to the chemical compound. The processing unit can be configured to estimate a remaining life of the chemical filter based on the tracked total exposure of the chemical filter and data regarding the total capacity of the chemical filter. Other embodiments are also included herein.
