Abstract: A method for producing a thixotropic curable silicone composition is provided. The curable silicone composition comprises: (A) a silicone base material comprising: an organopolysiloxane having at least two alkoxysilyl-containing groups per molecule and a filler other than fumed silica; (B) a hydrophobic fumed silica; (C) a carbasilatrane derivative; (D) an alkoxysilane or its partial hydrolysis and condensation product; and (E) a condensation reaction catalyst. The method comprises the following steps: (I) mixing components (A) and (B); (II) mixing component (C) with a mixture obtained by step (I); and (III) mixing components (D) and (E) with a mixture obtained by step (II) under free of moisture. The curable silicone composition obtained by the method has an excellent thixotropic property and can cure at room temperature by contact with moisture in air.

Abstract: A rubber composition, by which a vulcanizate having excellent vulcanization speed, abrasion resistance and low temperature rise can be obtained, is provided. A rubber composition including 100 parts by mass of a chloroprene-based rubber, 20 to 80 parts by mass of silica, 1 part by mass or more and less than 20 parts by mass of a hydrate, and 0.3 to 1.4 parts by mass of an organic peroxide, wherein the rubber composition includes 0.5 to 15 parts by mass of a silane coupling agent having a double bond in a structure of the silane coupling agent with respect to 100 parts by mass of the silica.

Abstract: Disclosed are a water-expandable rubber composition and a water-expandable rubber pad including the same. The water-expandable rubber pad manufactured using the water-expandable rubber composition is rigid enough to be directly inserted into a cylinder jacket even without a metal plate, etc. Moreover, the water-expandable rubber pad may increase in volume upon contact with engine coolant, thereby being optimized for an assembly process and facilitating design. Thus, since no separate assembly parts are used compared to conventional cases, the number of parts can be reduced, and costs can be reduced, and adhesiveness of the rubber pad is superior to that of conventional foam rubber and thus heat retention performance is excellent, resulting in improved engine fuel efficiency.
