Abstract: An extinguishing branch (28) for an electrical circuit (32) includes: a snubber circuit (36) including an energy storage limb (40), wherein the energy storage limb (40) includes first and second energy storage limb portions separated by a first junction (46) to define a first voltage divider, and each energy storage limb portion includes at least one energy storage device (48,50); and an arrester limb (38) connected across the energy storage limb (40), wherein the arrester limb (38) includes first and second arrester limb portions separated by a second junction (52) to define a second voltage divider, and each arrester limb portion includes at least one arrester element (54,56), wherein the first and second junctions (46,52) are connected to define a voltage divider bridge, and the voltage divider bridge is electrically coupleable to the electrical circuit (32) so as to provide, in use, a driving voltage to drive the electrical circuit (32).

Abstract: A combined cycle power plant with a gas and steam turbine system arranged on a single shaft and integrated with a cogeneration plant having a heat consumer such as a district heating system or industrial plant, including one or more steam extractions at an intermediate-pressure steam turbine that are arranged at the upper casing half-shell of the turbine and extraction steam lines that lead the extracted steam to heat exchangers of the cogeneration plant. The steam extraction outlets are arranged either singly at or near the uppermost point of the casing or in pairs to either side of the uppermost point of the casing. The specific arrangement of the extractions allows a floor-mounting of the single-shaft combined cycle power plant and as such a cost and space efficient realization of the power plant.

Abstract: A method for positioning a rotor of a gas turbine automatically is provided that includes gathering data with a control unit, and processing this data to bring the rotor to a desired position which is set according a Human Machine Interface (HMI). The indication of the lay of the rotor to the control unit is done by a key phasor, which includes a sensor which gets a digital pulse for each revolution of a phasor cam wheel. This digital pulse is used to give the information of the lay of the rotor to the control unit.

Abstract: A method for more efficiently removing pollutant gases from flue gases of a solid-fueled steam generator includes storing a silo a carbonaceous sorbent in a powdered form; extracting a superheated steam from a superheated steam source; and reducing a temperature, pressure and moisture content of the superheated steam to provide a processed steam of a desired pressure, temperature and moisture content. The method further includes providing a sorbent mill receiving the carbonaceous sorbent and the processed steam, wherein the sorbent mill is operable to de-agglomerate and comminute the carbonaceous sorbent using the processed steam to provide a processed sorbent. Further the method includes injecting the processed sorbent into the flue gases at a desired location in the solid-fueled steam generator thereby adsorbing the pollutants therefrom; and collecting and thereby remove the carbonaceous sorbent from the flue gas fluidly downstream from the desired location.

Abstract: The invention provides a coupling assembly for connecting two shafts. A first shaft includes an outward flange on one end thereof with a plurality of first holes extending through the outward flange around an axis of the first shaft. A second shaft is a hollow shaft including an inward flange on one end thereof with a plurality of second holes extending through the inward flange with same diameter of the first holes and aligning with the respective first holes. The coupling assembly includes: a coupling bolt with thread on a first end and a second end thereof, which is inserted in the first hole and the second hole. A first nut is engaged with the first end of the coupling bolt. A second nut engaged with the second end of the coupling bolt. An expansion sleeve is with its inner hole tapering from one end to another end thereof. The expansion sleeve is interposed between the coupling bolt and the first and second hole to secure the coupling bolt relative to the first and second hole; the second nut is formed with one end thereof having a threaded hole to engage with the coupling bolt and with the other end closed, and a profile hole smaller than the threaded hole is centrally formed on the closed end. The coupling bolt is formed with a through hole along the central axis thereof to receive an assembly tool to tighten the second nut relative to the coupling bolt. The invention also relates to a method for coupling two shafts with the coupling assembly. With this invention, it is possible to couple two shafts with access to only one side of the shaft flanges.

Abstract: A gas treatment plant (3) for treating an industrial waste gas comprising carbon dioxide comprises an oxyfuel boiler (100) and a pipe (109; 122; 180) arranged for forwarding the industrial waste gas to the oxyfuel boiler (100) and injecting the industrial waste gas into the oxyfuel boiler (100) to participate in the combustion process occurring in the boiler (100) to cause oxidation of at least a portion of the content of at least one oxidizable substance of the industrial waste gas. The gas treatment plant (3) further comprises a gas cleaning system (108), and a pipe (126) for forwarding a carbon dioxide rich flue gas generated in the boiler (100) to the gas cleaning system (108) for being cleaned therein, such that an at least partly cleaned carbon dioxide rich flue gas is formed.
