Abstract: A first clock signal and second clock signal are generated by first and second clock circuits, respectively. A multiplexer selects between the first clock signal and second clock signal to produce a scan clock signal. A non-scan flip flop clocks a data input through to a data output in response to the second clock signal. A scan chain includes a scan flip flop configured to capture the data output from the non-scan flip flop in response to the scan clock signal. The logic state of the captured data in the scan flip flop of the scan chain is indicative of whether the second clock circuit has a stuck-at fault condition (for example, with respect to any one or more included buffer circuits).

Abstract: An RFID transponder includes a coding and modulation unit that generates a transmission signal by modulating an oscillator signal with an encoded bit signal. During a first and a second time segment, the encoded bit signal assumes a first and a second logic level, respectively. The transmission signal includes a first signal pulse having a first phase within the first time segment and a second signal pulse having a second phase that is shifted with respect to the first phase by a predefined phase difference within the second time segment. The transmission signal is paused for a pause period between the first and the second signal pulse. The pause period is shorter than a mean value of a period of the first time segment and a period of the second time segment.

Abstract: Read stability of a memory is enhanced in low voltage operation mode by selectively boosting a cell supply voltage for a row of memory cells. The boosted voltage results from a capacitive coupling to the word line in that row. The capacitive coupling is implemented by running the metal line of the power supply line for the cell supply voltage and the metal line for the word line adjacent to each other in a common metallization level. The selective voltage boost is controlled in response to operation of a modified memory cell exhibiting a deteriorated write margin. An output of the modified memory cell is compared to a threshold to generate a signal for controlling the selective voltage boost. Word line under-voltage circuitry is further provided to control application of an under-voltage to the word line.

Abstract: CRC generation circuitry includes a lookup-table storing N-bit CRC values for M one-hot data frames. N AND gates for each bit of a M-bit data frame receive that bit of the M-bit data frame and a different bit of a N-bit CRC value from the lookup-table corresponding to a position of the bit in the M-bit data frame. N exclusive-OR gates each receive output from one of the N AND gates for each bit of the M-bit data frame. The N exclusive-OR gates generate a final N-bit CRC value for the M-bit data frame. The CRC value is therefore generated with a purely combinational circuit, without clock cycle latency. Area consumption is small due to the small lookup-table, which itself permits use of any generator polynomial, and is independent of the width of the received data frame. This device can also generate a combined CRC for multiple frames.

Abstract: A circuit includes an input terminal and a regulated supply line for supplying an electronic device with an electrostatic discharge protection and driver circuit for the electronic device. The supply line is coupled to the input terminal via the circuitry, so that current injected into the input terminal may produce a voltage increase on the regulated supply line. A comparator sensitive to the voltage at the input terminal and the voltage on the supply line is provided. A current sink coupled with the supply line and being activatable to sink current from the supply line is also provided. The comparator is configured for activating the current sink as a result of the voltage at the input terminal exceeding the voltage on the supply line of a certain intervention threshold.

Abstract: An RFID transponder device has antenna terminals for coupling an antenna system to the device. A transmitter and a receiver are coupled to the antenna terminals. The device has at least one damping resistance connected to at least one of the antenna terminals. The at least one damping resistance is connected, depending on a voltage swing at the antenna terminals during a transmission burst period, either together with a serially connected switch in parallel to the antenna terminals that are coupled to the receiver, or together with a parallel connected switch between one of the antenna terminals and a terminal of the transmitter. A damping control is configured to activate the at least one damping resistance during a damping period after the transmission burst period by controlling the respective switch.

Abstract: Tuning an antenna circuit of an actively transmitting tag to a frequency of an interrogator carrier signal after the tag was inserted into a host device is accomplished by detecting presence of the interrogator carrier signal at a location of the actively transmitting tag and hereafter setting capacitances of capacitors and/or inductances of coils comprised in said antenna circuit in a way that resonance of said antenna circuit is established while the antenna circuit is excited by a magnetic field of said interrogator carrier signal. This allows automatic tuning of an antenna circuit of an actively transmitting tag after it was inserted together with a miniature card into a host device, such as a mobile telephone, personal digital assistant, tablet PC and similar devices.
