Abstract:
A method to optimize workload across a plurality of storage devices of a storage system, where the method monitors a workload of a first storage device belonging to a first tier of the storage system, calculates a performance of the workload of the first storage device belonging to a first tier of the storage system, interpolates a performance threshold for the first storage device using the workload pattern of the first storage device and a profile of the first storage device, the profile identifying a benchmark performance of the first storage device, and optimizes a usage of the first storage device within the storage system to improve a performance of the first storage device.
Abstract:
By providing a radiator configuration circuit and a feeding circuit each having a simple structure, a ground radiation antenna having a more simplified fabrication process as well as a remarkably reduced fabrication cost is provided herein. Additionally, a ground radiation antenna having an excellent radiation performance, even when one side of a mobile communication terminal is covered with a conductive substance, such as an LCD panel, is also provided herein.
Abstract:
A curved reflective mirror includes a flat glass structure, an intermediate adhesive layer, and a flat glass mirror. The intermediate adhesive layer is positioned between the flat glass structure and the flat glass mirror. The flat glass structure, the intermediate adhesive layer, and the flat glass mirror are curved and deformed in a mechanical manner with the support of a mold. The curved and deformed flat glass structure, intermediate adhesive layer, and flat glass mirror are solidified and bonded together in a heating and/or ultraviolet (UV) light radiation and/or room temperature solidification manner to form a composite curved structure. Also provided is a method for manufacturing a curved reflective mirror. The curved reflective mirror can be widely applied in the fields of solar thermal collection and concentration and solar thermal power generation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to treating a hematologic cancer using a Hypoxia-Inducible Factor (HIF inhibitor). The invention also relates to inducing acute myeloid leukemia remission using the HIF inhibitor. The invention further relates to inhibiting a maintenance or survival function of a cancer stem cell (CSC) using the HIF inhibitor.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and other embodiments associated with spatial-domain Low-coherence Quantitative Phase Microscopy (SL-QPM) are described herein. SL-QPM can detect structural alterations within cell nuclei with nanoscale sensitivity (0.9 nm) (or nuclear nano-morphology) for “nano-pathological diagnosis” of cancer. SL-QPM uses original, unmodified cytology and histology specimens prepared with standard clinical protocols and stains. SL-QPM can easily integrate in existing clinical pathology laboratories. Results quantified the spatial distribution of optical path length or refractive index in individual nuclei with nanoscale sensitivity, which could be applied to studying nuclear nano-morphology as cancer progresses. The nuclear nano-morphology derived from SL-QPM offers significant diagnostic value in clinical care and subcellular mechanistic insights for basic and translational research. Techniques that provide for depth selective investigation of nuclear and other cellular features are disclosed.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for a protocol interface for a heterogeneous network. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include detecting, by a user equipment, a local area radio network; and establishing, at the user equipment, a first entity configured to manage a first radio resource of a local area radio network, wherein the first entity includes an interface to a second entity, at the user equipment, configured to manage a second radio resource of a cellular radio network. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for monitoring the security of an area, a corresponding security monitor device and a wireless access device. The method comprises steps of: determining whether there is at least one first mobile device accessing a wireless access device that serves said area; starting to monitor a breach of security conditions, if there is no at least one first mobile device accessing the wireless access device; and, generating an alarm signal and sending said signal to one of said at least one first mobile device, if the breach of security conditions is detected. With this method, it does not need the host to turn on the security monitoring device every time he leaves home and effectively eliminates the possibility of forgetting to turn on the security monitoring procedure by the user, making the security device more reliable and convenient.
Abstract:
The present disclosure addresses systems and methods to facilitate recommending an item page. The system may receive a reference to the item from a first device that corresponds to a first person. The system may generate an item page that refers to the item. The generating of the item page may be based on the received reference to the item. The system may detect that a quantity of received comments directed to the item exceeds a threshold amount. The received comments may be received by the system from a plurality of devices that correspond to second persons other than a seller of the item. An address of the generated item page may be sent to a second device that corresponds to a seller of the item. The sending of the address may be in response to the system detecting that the quantity of the received comments exceeds the threshold amount.
Abstract:
Described are automatically generated software deployment bookmarks that maintain information regarding events and/or triggers with respect to a network software deployment operation. The bookmarks are accessible and useable for evaluating the progress and state of the deployment. For example, a bookmark may be generated when deployment to a client machine succeeds, when a software deployment package is created and/or distributed, and for network component and/or membership state changes. A set of bookmarks may be used to generate a curve indicative of the deployment progress over time, and may be compared to previous progress of deploying other network software to client computer systems that is based on maintained performance history data.
