Abstract: A cement manufacturing plant includes a raw meal mill, at least one preheater string, a clinker furnace and a clinker cooler including a first section and a second section, wherein a preheater exhaust gas recirculation device is provided for recirculating exhaust gas leaving the at least one preheater string into the first section of the clinker cooler, and wherein the cement plant is configured for switching between an air operation mode and an oxyfuel operation mode, includes a first switching device for connecting either a source of air or a source of oxygen rich gas to a burning zone of the clinker furnace burner, and a second switching device for either establishing or separating a connection of the preheater exhaust gas recirculation means to the first section of the clinker cooler.

Abstract: A method of continuously manufacturing a cured membrane includes continuously compounding and mixing a vulcanizable rubber composition in a mixing extruder while continuously removing gasses from the vulcanizable rubber composition during mixing with a vacuum. The vulcanizable rubber composition may be continuously extruded to form an extrudate, which may be continuously calendered to form a green membrane. The green membrane may be continuously cured, such as by a hot air conveyor curing system, to form a cured membrane.

Abstract: A method of producing a supplementary cementitious material, includes providing at least one waste material selected from quarry sludge, aggregate washing sludge and road cleaning sludge, removing excess water from said waste material so as to provide a dry waste material, and either: mixing the dry waste material with a source of calcium sulphate to obtain a raw material mixture, and calcining the raw material mixture at a temperature of 700-900° C. to obtain the supplementary cementitious material, or: calcining the dry waste material at a temperature of 700-900° C. to obtain a calcined waste material, and mixing the calcined waste material with a calcined source of calcium sulphate to obtain the supplementary cementitious material.
