Abstract:
The present invention provides a method which makes it possible to extract both a liquid sample for a biochemical examination and an immunological test and a blood cell sample for a nucleic acid test from one blood sample. Isolation of blood cells is carried out for the blood obtained by blood collection. To the isolated blood cell component, a solution is added, and furthermore, which is suspended. Thus, the obtained blood cell sample is freeze-preserved, or used for extraction of nucleic acid. A nucleic acid test is carried out with the use of the extracted nucleic acid. On the other hand, the isolated plasma component is freeze-preserved, or provided for a biochemical examination and an immunological test.
Abstract:
A method to extract RNA with high purity from biological materials containing RNA in a safe, rapid, and simple procedure and a method to analyze it are provided. The procedure includes the steps of mixing a biological material containing RNA with a predetermined concentration of a chaotropic agent and a predetermined concentration of an organic solvent, allowing the mixed solution to contact a nucleic acid-binding solid phase, washing the nucleic-acid binding solid-phase to which RNA is bound, and eluting RNA from the nucleic-acid binding solid-phase having the bound RNA. Furthermore, the obtained RNA is analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or the like.
Abstract:
To provide a small vacuum pump making it possible to efficiently perform evacuation from the atmosphere to a high vacuum (degree of vacuum: 10−5 Pa) by using a single pump unit. A turbo-molecular pump mechanism portion is arranged on the high-vacuum side, a volute pump mechanism portion is arranged on the atmosphere side, and a thread groove pump mechanism portion is arranged between the turbo-molecular pump mechanism portion and the volute pump mechanism portion. Further, rotor blades of the turbo-molecular pump mechanism portion, a rotor of the thread groove pump mechanism portion, and an impeller of the volute pump mechanism portion are integrally mounted to a single rotor shaft, which is rotated by a single motor.
Abstract:
Wafery works receiving or delivering device comprise a work supporting means having plural pairs of supporting grooves of a given pitch in order to support a column of wafery works; a transfer mechanism having the work supporting means mounted at the upper end thereof and reciprocatable between a stand-by position and a work receiving or delivering position; a pair of forks disposed in the region of the work receiving or delivering position and having supporting grooves of the same pitch as those of the work supporting means; a fork advancing mechanism such that for advancing the forks to the work receiving or delivering position such that the forks overlap the work supporting means and the supporting grooves thereof align with those of the work supporting means; and a mechanism which collectively hands over the works supported on the work supporting means or on the forks to the forks or the work supporting means by moving the work supporting means upward or downward relative to the forks.
Abstract:
This invention provides an analyzer that has a liquid dispense pipette dispensing liquids with higher accuracy and precision at higher speeds. The analyzer includes a drive mechanism having a stepping motor as a power source. The drive mechanism transmits power from a rotation output shaft of the stepping motor to a moving unit for executing a target motion via at least one power transmission unit. The amount of idling of the moving unit stemming from the stepping motor getting driven in reverse is calculated from the amount of movement of the moving unit, from the amount of pulses fed to the stepping motor, and from the amount of remaining pulses so as to perform motion control of the drive mechanism accordingly.

Abstract:
This invention provides an analyzer that uses magnetic particles, the analyzer being capable of removing inhibitors within a short time and reducing an analytical time. Magnetic particles 3 within a pre-washing solution accommodated in a reaction container 127 are aggregated by a magnet 4 disposed near the outside of the reaction container 127. The reaction container 127 is repetitively rotated by a container-rotating gear driving motor 9, thereby to impart vibration to the aggregated magnetic particles 3. The vibration changes relative positions of the magnetic particles densely populated by magnetic fields, and thus the inhibitors and other substances included in the magnetic particle aggregate can be removed from the magnetic particles.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, purified nucleic acids are isolated without the complete removal of components of a washing reagent. Also, nucleic acids are isolated in an elution reagent by allowing a washing reagent comprising at least one component constituting a reaction solution that can be applied to a reaction involving nucleic acids to come into contact with a nucleic-acid-adsorbing solid phase so as to wash the solid phase, separating the washing reagent from the solid phase in a manner such that a certain amount of the washing reagent is allowed to remain in the solid phase, and allowing an elution reagent to come into contact with the nucleic-acid-adsorbing solid phase.
Abstract:
In a sensor head, parallel rays or approximately parallel rays are generated by a pair of condenser lenses that reciprocate according to vibrations of a collimate lens and a tuning fork, and go out from a light port. To the light port, a lens holder in which an objective lens is supported is detachably attached. The light from the light port is processed to measurement beams that are condensed by the objective lens to a predetermined position.
