    摘要： A toner image transfer for use in an image forming apparatus provided with a rotatable photosensitive member, the toner image transfer includes: a charging wire; a shield casing for shielding the charging wire, the shield casing including a first wall extending in parallel with the charging wire and a second wall extending in parallel with the first wall and positioned downstream of the first wall with respect to the rotation of the photosensitive member, the first and second walls each having a free end defining an opening facing the photosensitive member, a line connecting the respective free ends of the first and second walls intersecting a line connecting a center of the photosensitive member and the charging wire at an acute angle. A plurality of spaced guide operative members in the form of a string are positioned over the opening and are spaced more closely in one area than in another area.

    摘要： A more exact, reliable, and simple method for determining the structure of a sugar chain, a kit to be used for this method, and novel oligosaccharides useful for the method as standard sugar chains are provided. The method for determining the structure of an N-acetyllactosamine type of sugar chain is characterized by determining the site of linkage and the mode of linkage of sugar residues at the non-reducing terminal side of a .beta.-N-acetylglucosamine residue linked to an .alpha.-mannose residue in M3 core by means of detecting the presence of the .beta.-N-acetylglucosamine residue after enzymatic or chemical treatment of the sugar chain. The kit for determining the structure of an N-acetyllactosamine type of sugar chain is characterized by containing at least one of the oligosaccharides represented by the chemical formula 1. The oligosaccharide is represented by the chemical formula 4.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a fixing unit fixing a toner image onto a sheet. The fixing unit includes a heating member having a sheet conveyed region that is set in accordance with the size of the sheet. The fixing unit further includes a coil generating magnetic field, a fixed core forming a magnetic path, movable cores forming a magnetic path together with the fixed core and arranged along the sheet conveyed region, a shielding member arranged on at least one movable core and shielding magnetism, and a magnetism adjustment unit rotating at least one movable core to switch the position of the shielding member between a shielding position where the shielding member is positioned inside the sheet conveyed region to shield the magnetism and a retracted position where the shielding member is positioned outside the sheet conveyed region to permit pass of the magnetism.
